I stopped by for awhile tonight. Your friends seemed nice. Secret Sarah built this cool room that had lava for walls using glass for protection.

I'm going to hop on your server later dlmvii. Is it up 24/7?

I started building a secret underwater lair on Jeff's server a few days ago. All glass walls, and in the process of open it up into the bed rock I stumbled upon a little cave filled with lava. Which was convenient. I'm going to build that into a little trap to deter would-be looters. I'm considering reinforcing it all with obsidian as well, since AFAIK it's un-mineable, so as to avoid subterranean breaches. My own little underwater fortress. :)

So you chose Rapture, eh?

I may jump on if I ever get a decent connection.

So does light attract the monsters?

I built this sweet little cave dwelling house that has windows all over and even has a waterfall going over one side of windows. Now that my place looks pretty swank though, I'm getting an annoying amount of obnoxious baddies showing up on my doorstep. I think they can see the torchlight through the windows or something.

It's so bad that whenever I die and respawn at night, I can't get back into my house or else I'll be riddled with arrows and some creeper bastards will blow the front door off.

I need to build a moat.

Just a heads up, obsidian is in fact mineable with a diamond pickaxe. Diamond is where it's at!

And if you guys haven't been there yet, check out the MinePedia, it has information on all the tools and blocks, as well as redstone circuits and whatnot. It's incredibly useful.

I don't know how anyone can play this game without Minepedia. If you actually learned how to make things in this game without it, that's impressive.

I managed to make a few things, like workbench, furnace, and pickaxe without minepedia, but not much more than that. Some of the layouts are a bit odd, like axe. Also, how anybody is supposed to make Cake without a guide is beyond me.
