Live from Egypt: Watch now while you can

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

My favorite:

Teenager showed me teargas canister "made in USA". Saw the same thing in Tunisia. Time to reconsider US exports?

Go go Egypt. Down with the 30 year dictator.
Yeah, but the biggest problem is that when revolutions happen and "the people" want to take over, they typically end up with some radical regime that is often worse than what they had before. I'm not saying sticking with a dictator is better, just that as usual there are no good options in many of these countries.
We managed to overthrow the American backed dictatorship in the 70s, and we managed to return to normal democracy (corruption problems aside, though they didn't start to appear until the end of the 80s).

Besides, if the people keep overturning dictators, at some time they will achieve democracy. My best wishes to the Egyptian people. I hope they can gain their freedom with as few casualties as possible.

That would be nice, but it probably won't turn out that well. North Africa and the Middle East have trouble with staying peaceful.

If he meant that 1989, and not Europe's 1989, then yeah, Africa has a good chance of having theirs.
