Yeah, I agree that it's a great horror film. Fair warning though: you may want to turn your head during the bathtub scene and don't say I didn't warn you!

Wow, I didn't realize that Don't Open until Christmas and Christmas Evil were the same? Interesting.

I thought I heard that Hell Night was getting a remake too but I could be mistaken, I forgot to mention that one. I like that one alot actually and I wouldn't mind a remake.
I am addicted to video games, especially retro gaming from my era. I have: NES, SNES, Nintendo 64, Gamecube, Gameboy, GBA, Wii, Sega Genesis, Sega CD, Dreamcast, PS1, PS2, Xbox, and Xbox 360. I have probably over 1,000 games in total for all these systems combined. Yes, I need help and I wouldn't have it any other way! This is my passion and hey my wife still loves me!!

oh sure, Hell Night is great. Linnea Quigley and Linda Blair... great combo. Like I said, I can hardly say no to a slasher, and usually give it a +1 just for being a slasher. Haha.

To throw a couple less than serious movies out there, how about 'I Am Virgin' and 'One-Eyed Monster'?

I watched Species about 3 days ago and I'm not sure what I think about it. There's a lot more to it than I thought there'd be. The kills were fun, and Natasha Henstridge was great. There's only one thing that bothered me, but that one thing is prevalent throughout the movie: The dialog. The dialog is almost all exposition.
* charters walk into Train Car with an Alien Cocoon*
Alfred Molina: This is a Chrysalis, a cocoon of sorts.
Forest Whitaker: She attacked because she was scared.
Please tell me that the audience for this film isn't that dumb.

All right. I won't. I don't remember that much exposition, but I watch a lot of crime dramas where they do the same thing so maybe I'm just used to it. Now that I think about it though, the film was part monster movie, part biology/psychology lesson. The second one's really similar to the first, just to give you a fair warning.
noiseredux wrote:@Michi: I Spit is not easy to watch. But it's a masterpiece of revenge cinema. Very similar to Last House On The Left. Only way harder-core. Seriously. You have to like get yrself ready to watch it. But you should see it. It's crazy.
It's actually on my very long list of movies I need to see. I'll admit though, that it's near the bottom of the list after my friend had me watch the original Last House On The Left with him a few months ago (We get together once or twice a month to either watch something totally new or something either one of us hasn't seen before). I'll admit it left a very unsettling feeling in the middle of my chest.

My friend, the great film connoisseur that he is, warned me about I Spit after we watched Last House. Told me I had to be prepared and in the right mood to watch it. I told him if it was any more intense than Last House than it'd be a while before I was ready to see it, which was fine with him, since he didn't seem all that psyched to see it so soon either. Still haven't gotten around to watch it yet. I know he has it somewhere, but we've both been in too good a mood lately to sit down and see it. Perhaps by the time Halloween rolls around we'll have prepared ourselves.

I appreciate it. God knows "Mr. Connoisseur" wouldn't give me the same courtesy  .

yeah. I can watch Last House without much issue to be honest. I've seen it many times. Probably only watched I Spit like 3 times in the last 10 years. Like I said, you should see it. But it's definitely harder to watch than Last House.

The rape scene that never ends- in regards to hard to watch movies, it isn't really horror, but Irreversible would probably be up there on my list of hard to watch, along with Salo

I've only seen part of Last House on the Left, but I found it difficult to watch just for the picture quality. It was sort of like John Carpenter's Dark Star, which was really rough but enjoyable.

Any of you ever seen the ecological horror movie Prophecy? It's honestly pretty terrible, but worth watching just for the scene where the family of campers gets killed. I seriously rewound and watched one particular death scene ten times in a row while laughing hysterically.

the rape scene is well over 40 mins... about half the film's length.

the second half is amazing though. Quintessential exploitation revenge flick. FYI: the original title was Day Of The Woman.

I've seen it, I was just commenting on that fact that, right when you think the scene is over, there is some other twist- and it keeps going on
