Innovative games? Seaman, Jet Grind Radio, Rez, Ikaruga..um, yeah definitely. Check

VGA SUPPORT FOR HIGH DEF GAMING!!! Check

The continued life of arcade gaming. Check

and then there is the VMUs and all the interesting things they were going to do with that. Similar to some stuff Nintendo has done
