The forum was being really slow for me a bit ago. I think that's just server issues though, not related to the redesign specifically.BoringSupreez wrote:Unfortunately, Racketboy loads far, far slower for me now with the new design. It's like Kotaku or Joystiq. Sometimes it takes literally 2 to 3 minutes for a page to load, and I can't get any pages except the boards to load at all. I'd like to either have the option to use the old site layout, or just some way to load a more basic version of the site, because these loading times are awful.

Re: New site design
I had no issues with the new site loading (still only a couple of seconds to load completely). Just a few minutes ago everything loaded fine until I tried to view my messages, which took a while. I agree, I don't think these issues are due to the new design.swiftzx wrote:BoringSupreez wrote:Unfortunately, Racketboy loads far, far slower for me now with the new design. It's been this slow for me as well. I doubt it has to do with the site design.

Re: New site design
I also noticed server slowdown lately
Re: New site design
I think the server was having hiccups last night. Saw some error message emails in the morning.
Speed seems fine to me even on my android phone.

Re: New site design
It was hiccupy for me last night as well.
I thought it was me, my network was under heavy stress with some work at the time, so I put no thought into it.

Re: New site design
It goes down or hiccups nightly for about 10-20 minutes around 1am EST. It has done this for a long time.

Well a week or two ago, I talked to my hosting company about that.dsheinem wrote:It goes down or hiccups nightly for about 10-20 minutes around 1am EST. It has done this for a long time.
We have some cron jobs and backups running at that time, so we spread them out a bit. I thought it had improved since then. Am I wrong?

I've learned through my experience at work that cron jobs are the devil.racketboy wrote:Well a week or two ago, I talked to my hosting company about that.dsheinem wrote:It goes down or hiccups nightly for about 10-20 minutes around 1am EST. It has done this for a long time.
