I couldn't agree more. I will forever dislike Nintendo for making "motion control" a mainstream input device in gaming... as well as GD touchscreens. Ugh.

I got into it when I realized I probably shouldn't spend 5+ hours a day on the couch, that its a good way to spend time with people who like to be active, and even if they are just mini games with unrefined controls, they can still be a lot of fun

I generally dislike motion controls but it depends on the game. Wii Fit works better with motion controls than a traditional controller, for example. I recently ordered Shape Boxing 2 and I can't wait to get it. It lets you do shadow boxing with 2 wiimotes.

Can't really think of that many other examples.... The main problem I have is when a game forces you to use motion control and it's a disappointment because you know it would have been better if it used a standard controller. A good example of this is Soul Eater: Monotone Princess. It is a 3D beat-em-up style hack and slash game, but forces you to use motion controls for most of your moves, completely ruining the game.

As for the Move and Kinect:
The Move is the Wii remote, so no need to repeat myself. I haven't used Kinect but I can see potential for certain games, for example dancing or exercise games.

As I have said before, I think that motion controls can be fantastic when deeply ingrained in the game mechanics, and serve a meaningful purpose, but if they're just tacked-on, people will definitely notice. In other words, when motion controls are bad, they're REALLY bad, and when they're good, they're REALLY good.

RE4 is a prime example of a game that benefits from the motion controls. Punch-Out!! is another. Anything that would normally have used a light gun until non CRT made that virtually impossible would be a good example too. The controls themselves are sound. If RE4 can be so perfect with motion controls, I think it's pretty clear that other games could have, too--even when not originally intended as part of the game. It seems to me that most developers are too stuck in conventional ideas about control to really make it work for them instead of against them.

I keep hearing that the Move is supposed to be more accurate than the original Wii Remote, but I never hear anyone compare it to the Motion Plus. Has anyone compared these yet?

Also, Kinect is about as much like an Eye Toy as an Eye Toy is like a GameBoy Camera...
