Ok so I just got my first real taste of move. My wife had got me a kinect for my birthday (which isn't actually until next week, she is the best!) and we have had a wii since launch. Here are my thoughts, feel free to chime in with yours..i'm curious what everyone thinks
Wii, yes their are a billion sh@t titles but the actual good ones are there too. Yes it's gamecube plus as far as graphics but I grew up on atari and nintendo so it holds a special place in my heart. I do not own a wii motion plus attachment so I can not say but the regular wii mote and games are fine by me.
Xbox, oh how i love and hate you so. Great system, when it works (on my 5TH model now) but I must say I am very impressed with kinect. When i first heard about it a year or so ago i though MEH but actually playing it, my wife and I are having lots of fun with it. We of course have kinect adventures, but also have dance central, kinect sports, and kinect joy ride. We really enjoy them
Yesterday I got myself the move....and honestly for one reason. I preordered dead space 2 on ps3 and it's comming with extraction. I beat the wii one (awesome by the way) so I wanted to try it in HD. So we got sports champions and downloaded trials of tv superstars, kung fu rider, and the shoot. We already own pain and high velocity bowling. I must say..I am VERY disapointed and not at all impressed. I love my PS3, and sony is a great company but this move thing sucks. Yeah, it's very precise but am I the only one pissed at this point?
Sorry for the ramble, just wanted to give background info

Re: Move Vs. Kinect Vs. Wii
Wii did made motion gaming common. MS made controller-free gaming work (well mostly). And Sony just copied Nintendo as usual. Eventually there will be good stuff on Move but as of right now it's nothing special.

Yes, but why did move leave you disappointed. You can't just say your pissed and not explain at all. If its so precise then what is wrong with it? Uncomforable to hold? Lack of software? Poor implementation in current software? Unintuitive? Something else?

Re: Move Vs. Kinect Vs. Wii
I'm just waiting to see how well PS Move works with Killzone 3 and Sorcery. If those get decent reviews then I might be interested in it. But right now, there aren't any must have titles for Move

Re: Move Vs. Kinect Vs. Wii
I have zero interest in the Kinect library, but I do love the prospect of "Move = Wii HD". I might check it out. I did enjoy the novelty of movement with the Wii but that has pretty much worn off. However, while the novelty is gone, I love the options movement gives you, I'd love to play Resident Evil 5 Gold for instance.
I wish I had more reasons to play my Wii.

I'd atleast recommend Echochrome 2 and Beat Sketch. the Sly Collection has move mini games, time crisis: blazing storm has move support. Little Big Planet 2 has move support but I haven't got my copy from amazon yet.

How many do you have right now? (And what are they?)brainofjtd wrote:I wish I had more reasons to play my Wii.
I've got so many reasons to play the Wii, I freeze up and avoid it now.

I like how you mentioned Sony Copying Nintendo, but you make no mention of Microsoft copying Sony. Eyetoy/PlayStation EyeD.D.D. wrote:And Sony just copied Nintendo as usual.

Re: Move Vs. Kinect Vs. Wii
I was thinking of getting the Move with my Christmas money this year, but there really wasn't too much software to warrant the purchase, while as the Wii has tons of Nintendo games I have been really wanting to play for awhile now, and the Red Wii bundle just seemed right. Maybe eventually I will get a Move because essentially to me it is Wii HD. But they really got to get games I wanna play. Like more light gun games. Time Crisis Complete, House of the Dead Complete, Virtua Cop and Sega Light Gun Arcade Gallery would make the transition and getting all the crap needed a little easier.

Re: Move Vs. Kinect Vs. Wii
Where's the reasoning? Why are you very disappointed with Move? Why has it failed to impress you?
Personally, I found that Sports Champions is a lot of fun, it's very accurate and games like Disc Golf, Gladiator and Table Tennis are better than any counter-parts you'll find on other systems, but the game itself doesn't have a lot of depth. Outside of Sports Champions, the only worthwhile use of Move for me is in R.U.S.E where it works FANTASTICALLY and is easily the best implementation of a PC RTS on console. And there in lies Moves problem; there's just not enough software worth playing, however that may be set to change with Dead Space Extraction and Sorcery on the horizon, and with games like LBP2 and Killzone 3 providing Move support.
As for Kinect, it works a whole lot better than I had ever envisioned - but for me it's not a viable purchase as I just don't have the space for full-body motion tracking. Also, none of the titles really interest me at this point and I question whether Kinect will work as well for traditional console genres as either the Wii or Move.
