Censorship is very minimal. It's not like characters are bleeding oil like in Bleach.
Ivo wrote:Some of them only work if you know some things that even in Brazil you wouldn't. For example, when Goku goes SSJ3 in front of Boo, in the Portuguese dub they put in a stupid remark about a known Portuguese hairdresser (Lucia Piloto)... I mean, who thought up of that...
It's not only the liberality of the script, though. The voices are quite funny as well. I understand it's nostalgic for you guys, but it's pretty bad.

About the random remarks, watching the other day on Youtube, when they go inside Babidi's ship, they encounter that ugly monster that absorbs light. Goku then remarks: "Oh, it's Miss Portugal '97!"

Only the TV version of Kai is censored. The DVDs and Blu-Rays are uncut with lots of blood and swearing and Roshi booby grabbing.

i don't really get the point of DB Kai. the only difference is the intro being new. mostly everything else is old and just filtered. just make a new series already dammit. give us a new Dragon Ball AF TV Series! (though the AF was only a "A"pril "F"ools joke back in 1997).

Which is your favorite Dragon Ball Series? Dragon Ball, Dragonball Z, Dragonball GT, or Dragonball Z Kai?

Easily Dragonball Z, despite the fact that it took forever to make it's point. :P

Which is your favorite Dragon Ball Movie?

The Dead Zone. It was the first of the movies I saw in the series, and it remains my favorite to this day. (Saw it at 12 Years Old, I am 22 now. :))

Which storyline/saga is your favorite?

Does my last answer tell you anything? The Garlic Jr. Saga. Despite it being really short, it really showed just how evil Garlic Jr. is, and how he was willing to destroy everything, including himself, when his plan failed. And hey! Mr. Popo helped save the day! It just goes to show you that anyone can be a Hero!

Which Z-Fighter is your favorite?

Future Trunks. We're talking about the first fighter who could combat Cell in terms of power, but only lost because he couldn't match Cell's speed.

Which villain was your favorite?

Garlic Jr. :)

I always wanted a sequel series to Dragonball that would have the Saiyans leave the planets defense to the Humans. It would be great to have a show that focused on someone besides Goku.
Maybe now Nintendo will acknowledge Metroid has a fanbase?

that would be nice bro, but Goku is the heart and soul of the whole Dragon Ball series so i don't see that happening... but it would be nice to past on the torch, somehow.

Goku is also the reason the show came to an end. If the fans would have let Gohan take over as was intended, the show might have been able to grow. But since the fanbase demanded more Goku and all of Goku's stories had been told...the show had to stop.

yep. when all of this was new i was excited that Gohan was the new lead of the series when he defeated Cell as a kid...but it all goes back to Goku.

The difference is they undid all of the stuff that was done to deliberately slow the series down and keep it from out-pacing the release of the manga. This makes the story and the pacing much closer to the manga, and fans of Toriyama's work should like that.

There's also a huge added benefit: For anyone that was ever annoyed by the excruciatingly drawn-out pauses in the fight scenes, or the irrelevant filler material, or the recaps that took up a quarter of the episode's length, Kai is a godsend. Dragon Ball Z is now watchable to a much larger demographic than before.

Yeah, Kai is basically the manga on film. If it wasn't in the manga, it's not in the show. DBZ Kai is my definitive version. As for continuing the series, I'd be down for that as long as they do not acknowledge GT. That was pure shit. And the creator of DB/Z (Akira Toriyama) has even stated that GT does not count in the DB timeline. It's all non-canon.
