Yeah I've heard from some people that say they went through the whole game without ever grinding. I personally had to grind for 3 or 4 bosses before even reaching Gran Pulse, at which point I was immediately hit by a huge wall of higher level monster that I felt I had no chance of beating unless I grinded a ton and I promptly gave up on the game. The combat system was fine, I just got annoyed that all my attacks felt like I was throwing paper unless I got the armor break thing activated, and that always felt like a chore.Gamerforlife wrote:Really depends on you play it. FFXIII's ranking system was actually based mostly on speed. It wasn't slow paced once you knew what you were doing. Well, that was my experience anyway. I don't remember much grinding either, until you started hunting optional creatures and bosses to fight. I guess every player's experience with the game is differentMrEco wrote:I seriously hope the costume change is reflected within the whole game. A more traditional medievil fantasy setting would be really sweet (And I don't mind Lightning looking more sexy). Also, much less grinding would be appreciated. And a slightly better combat system. XIII's was OK but it moved a bit slowly for me. Ironic considering the reason they changed it to what it was was because they wanted it to be faster paced.

Yeah, now that you mention it, I do remember Gran Pulse being something of a difficulty spike in the game's progression. It's still doable though, but I think there is a lot of trial and error in figuring out what strategy works best for each encounter. One bad thing about the combat system is that there are a few subtle aspects of it that not every player would pick up on. Though this is kind of true of all FF games I thinkMrEco wrote:Yeah I've heard from some people that say they went through the whole game without ever grinding. Bumped for info.
So, who else was hoping XIII-2 would have a less confusing story than it's predecessor? I know I was, and probably quite a few of you were as well.
Weeeeelllll it's not gonna happen. Because apparently it's story is going to have time travel.

XIII didn't have a confusing story, as long as you were willing to read the archives.

Re: Final Fantasy XIII-2
Really? They thought that FF13 has a strong enough setting for 3 games?
I think they just want to make back more money from all those expensive art assets.

Probably they're just squatting domains to avoid stupid shit like the Modern Warfare 3 website redirecting to Battlefield 3.

Re: Final Fantasy XIII-2
True....if they are planning a sequel anyway. Is Final Fantasy VIII-2 IX-2 registered though? Is GTA-San Andreas-2 registered? Unless a company is planning on making a sequel at some time in the future, I don't think there's a point in them registering the domain.jfrost wrote:Probably they're just squatting domains to avoid stupid shit like the Modern Warfare 3 website redirecting to Battlefield 3.
