Final Fantasy XIII-2

Post by brainofjtd »

Now we know why XIII felt like a prologue: it was.

Dunno if this has been posted before, but hell. At least this gives me a reason to finish my file of FFXIII instead of watching someone else beat it and considered myself done with it.

Interesting, I was a bit let down by FF13, but I'd be up for some more of that awesome combat system. They need to improve the ranking system though

I didn't like Lightning much. She was more of a product than a character. Hey look! I'm Cloud! But with boobs! My other concern is that the last FF sequel was pretty bad(FFX2)and honestly, this franchise hasn't told a great story since FFX. I feel like I've been playing them and getting nothing out of them other than gameplay. The combat sytems, optional quests, bosses, etc. always keep me playing them for a while

So make lightning a bit more naked, get rid of her awesome suit for a medieval one, and am I the only one who thinks here feather dress is very much like Yuna's in FFX-2?

A) At least there is consistency to her outfit now where as before ehrs (and everyone's) looked like what hobos wear after raiding a fabric store.

B) I love X-2 and had the most fun with tis combat over any FF game. So I'm not too judgmental on that.

C) Yeah I totally saw that feather thing.

D) Even if Lightning isn't your cup of tea she's better than the entire combined cast of XII. The best thing about XII was Han Solo.

I didn't have a problem with FFX2's combat, just everything else

Personally, I'd rate the entire cast of FFXII over Lightning. She's just a lame character who we're suppossed to love just based on her badass combat abilities. She's a cliche. Now Balthier, Basch and Fran were all much more interesting to me

They were all more interesting to you because they're the Rebel Alliance. Han, Chewie, Obi-Wan... Seriously. I could barely get past recognizing them as such in XII lol. Although FFXIII finally proved you could have a worse bad guy than the "gods" of XII influencing Vayne. "Gods" who do nothing at all but deliver dialog. I can finally give XII a positive... anything.

I'm definitely interested in how this will turn out. I hope it will improve over Final Fantasy XIII in terms of story. The combat system was excellent in XIII but we shall see... :)

I seriously hope the costume change is reflected within the whole game. A more traditional medievil fantasy setting would be really sweet (And I don't mind Lightning looking more sexy). Also, much less grinding would be appreciated. And a slightly better combat system. XIII's was OK but it moved a bit slowly for me. Ironic considering the reason they changed it to what it was was because they wanted it to be faster paced.

Really depends on you play it. FFXIII's ranking system was actually based mostly on speed. It wasn't slow paced once you knew what you were doing. Well, that was my experience anyway. I don't remember much grinding either, until you started hunting optional creatures and bosses to fight. I guess every player's experience with the game is different

Hype and promise all they want, but I have followed this company for way too long to get excited. I'll wait to see how they deliver.
