so why can't we get PGEN to do the same thing? I'm really sort of shocked that nobody has figured out a way to do this yet.

Maybe you found out about it since 2008, but ten years ago there was an emulator called Bleemcast that would run PS1 discs on Dreamcast systems.

The emulator was never released officially because Sony drove the company bankrupt with court costs, despite the fact that Sony never won any of the court cases against Bleem.

I dunno either. I was just posting what I found on Zophar. Looks like the author's site is down. Is there no readme file in the download? Hmm now I look again, looks like it doesn't do Sega CD. I was looking at the category heading. Sorry about that.

there is a SCD emu for PSP -- so many try finding that and seeing if there's a PS2 port?

From the Readme
This is Pgen 1.51.s with a new look and modified to work on a ps2 compatible ps3.
This explains why the file looked foreign to me...

yes, well its a genny emulator/sega cd emulator in 1, you can put the iso in a iso folder,

i only tried silpheed, it ran very well, not sure about all the other games you know how emulators run sometimes, but yes you can play sega cd on psp.

i also run neo geo on psp, its my favorite!! runs very well with 95% of the games, and you can run home/arcade consoles on it, with save features in the middle of game and even play wireless 2 player with another psp.
I have a Genesis emulator on mine. And I'm pretty sure it's better than the actual Sega CD. I have a Sega CD Model 2 and it had trouble running a store-bought copy of Chuck Rock. Yet my XBox ran it without a single issue.
