I love this show.
It's funny as hell, and Sheldon is the perfect love-to-hate character. He's everything you hate and everything you find endearing.
And all the haters can hate all they want. It still won't make them right.
Also, apparently many female fans have the hots for Sheldon.
The Big Bang Theory
Re: The Big Bang Theory
What do you find endearing about Sheldon?
His character's gotten old. The show doesn't really have any stories anymore that aren't centered around him.
I mean, I still enjoy it, but it's clear that the process of Flanderization of Sheldon has gotten out of hand.

in all seriousness, the last time I've seen Big Bang was around 2008. I do put on old sitcoms when I go to bed though.the King wrote:noiseredux wrote:I do still think Sheldon is the best one on the show.
For me the worst part is the whole Penny vs David-From-Roseanne dynamic. And maybe I just think it's bad casting, but I think of her as the bimbo sister from that Simple Rules show and I think of him as well... David-From-Roseanne, so it feels weird to me. Like they both feel like forced characters to me, and I find it hard to believe that she'd hang out with any of those dudes. Then again, I'm a geek and my wife's hot so shit does happen I guess. But just not on TV. Also remember when Dan Connor got so mad at David he punched a hole in the wall? That's classic.noiseredux wrote:alright. I seriously have no idea. Is it a TV person? I don't watch that much TV.

Re: The Big Bang Theory
I heard all the time that I was "just like Sheldon!", so I decided to give the show a chance. I really can't stand it. Usually if a show has enough references I get or characters I relate to I like it but I just found the humor to be very bland and every joke could easily be predicted. I am a very picky person when it comes to TV though. Honestly if it weren't for gaming I probably wouldn't own one. The shows I like that are still on, I own on DVD and everything else was canceled long ago.

Season 1 and 2 of IT Crowd was great. After that, it just died.zxqdms wrote:The IT Crowd is way better. Actually, I've never seen The Big Bang Theory, so I can't compare.

Well, it takes on a "Two and a Half Men" or "Bleach" type mentality. It goes to well very often on recycled running gags so very regularly, but it doesn't detract from their humor. Plus we get the little vanity card at the end from Chuck Lorre.elvis wrote:Ditto.Bradtemple87 wrote:I have been watching since the pilot, and it is still one of my favorites
Also, much like Garfield w/o Garfield, the laugh-less YouTube clips (or mute it and turn on closed-captioning) have their equally hilarious moments.
I do find it sad that more and more of the new episodes border on ridiculousness for the sake of being ridiculous, but I suppose its also a good thing that they are slowing (but not stopping) character development.
And one more thing:
WIIIIIILLLLLLL WHEEEEEEEAAAATOOOOON!
