Ah, thanks for letting me know. I had a feeling that might be it when I realized the adapter was different than the one's that came with them. Problem has been confirmed as being caused by using an incorrect power adapter not giving the PSone enough juice. A big thanks to everyone who replied!

Gotta get me a power adapter that works first, but I have a chip in my earlier grey model PS1 already so if I do put a chip in the PSone one it'll be later on down the road.jinn wrote:that's great you solved the problem. All you need now is to install a chip.
