The Legend of Zelda on NES or Kirby's Dream Land for GB. I can't remember which one was first but they were definitely the first two. I loved watching Kirby become a hot air balloon when I was a kid so I would beat Dream Land repeatedly just to see that.

Same here. I am pretty sure the first game I beat was Super Mario USA (I am gonna assume you are talking about the American Mario 2 game). I played a lot of Super Mario Brothers but never actually beat it.

Hey, now. It was called Super Mario Bros. 2 by Nintendo before it was called Super Mario USA. Doesn't that mean that it's a fact that the "real" name is Super Mario Bros. 2?

Rastan on Sega Master System. I didnt just beat it, either. I beat it, without losing a life, unlocking the hidden extra level with the boss that has WAY more life than you do. I felt so crazy badass. It was awesome.

yes, I was referring to the US release. When it was released we knew it as SMB2. That's still what I call it to this day. (Likewise I call the "real" SMB2 "Lost Levels" as it was known when released here.)

I call them both Super Mario Bros. 2. I just specify American or Japanese. This may be a result of me having never owned a copy of Super Mario All-Stars.

Confusion is annoying isn't it? We know now that our Mario 2 wasn't the real Mario 2. Same deal with our Final Fantasy 2 and 3.

If you say Mario 2, you should be talking about the real Mario 2. If you want to call the American Mario 2 that, you need to mention that it's the American version so other people can understand you better.

Same deal with the American Final Fantasy 2 and 3 games. If you want to use the American titles, you need to let us know, otherwise we will assume you are actually talking about Final Fantasy 2 and 3.

I believe the first game I beat was Super Mario Bros. 3 on the NES... I didn't get an NES till late when the game came bundled with it.
