We MUST have a thread for this... but I couldn't find it. So if someone find's it, feel free to merge...
anyway, I was trying to think of this this morning because I was listening to the last episode of Retronauts and they got on the subject. My best guess is that the first game I ever beat was Super Mario Bros 2 (NES). I'm not certain, but I really can't think of any game I owned earlier than that that I can remember beating.

Bubble Bobble in arcades. That or Super Mario Land 2 I'm not 100% sure.

Chip 'N Dale Rescue Rangers on NES. It's a pretty easy game, but I was still pretty new to platforming video games when I beat it. I was quite proud of myself.
Systems: TI-99/4a, Commodore Vic-20, Atari 2600, NES, SMS, GB, Neo Geo MVS (Big Red 4-slot), Genesis, SNES, 3DO, PS1, N64, DC, PS2, GBA, GCN, NDSi, Wii

Would have been one of the early Sierra adventures. Space Quest I is a good candidate.

wow the first game you beat was a Castlevania game? That's way more hardcore than the easy games I played growing up. Heck I was proud I beat Megaman Willy's Revenge on Game Boy.

that's an accomplishment. The first couple GB games in the series were brutal. I don't think the game got really comfortable to play until IV.

heh, this is one of the other games i had as a kid. great game in my opinion (since i grew up with it). this is probably the game that i beat the most than any other game i've played.
