Yes, it is. I just meant that it plays all games (dual layer or not) from every region. It also plays backups. From every region.noiseredux wrote:that's a joke, right?jfrost wrote: I'm pretty sure it'll play Xbox games if I put them in.

No. Who said that?jfrost wrote:Is it really difficult to get a mod chip in the US?

Just a general impression, since you guys haven't been recommending it and are instead suggesting solutions that don't seem as practical, in my opinion.

I think HD Loader/Advance is a good option, but I would have suggested the mod chip over it if Noise didn't already say no to it. Said something about being too lazy to install it IIRC.
Modchip.ca carries a PS2 mod chip and they ship to the USA, I've ordered from them a few times. Though I heard there's a new PS2 chip out that only has 12 or so wires. I haven't seen it before, some one told me about it.
Noise, if I wanted to play legit imports on my PS2 from the DVD/CD I would go with a mod chip. The PS2 chip will let you boot anything, and you don't have to swap at all. But like I already said, if you don't mind swapping, and it's up to you.

yeah... I'm not quite sure which I'll decide on. I prefer a chip, but am not confident in installing myself. And if you add up cost of chip, shipping console out and back and labor, it costs a lot to have someone do it for you. Where swapping is annoying, it's also probably a cheaper alternative for me.Ziggy587 wrote: Noise, if I wanted to play legit imports on my PS2 from the DVD/CD I would go with a mod chip. I love my chipped Cube, but I bought it that way.

Chips are rather overpriced over there, so I see where you're coming from. But I'm sure people in the forums would help you installing it, no?

ModChip.ca is always a little more expensive than competitors, but their service is outstanding.

I was think of stocking pre-modded PS2, but I have come to realize that most people only want to pay $30-60 for a PS2.
I have a XENO PS for $10 shipped if you want it, I will also include 30awk kynar solid core install wire. It has the Matrix Infinity bios 1.93 or 1.99 not sure. You can use it on V6 and up, for install diagrams use the Matrix Infinity or modbo 4.

PSone, Xbox, PS2, DC, SS Mod Service, PM for details
