Hardboiled is one of my faves. The hospital sequence is so awesome. Try Stranglehold sometime. Not as great as the movie that inspired it, but still a good gameEvilRyu2099 wrote:Love both movies.. Oh, I have. Hard Boiled probably has better action, but I think I like The Killer more because it manages far more serious drama than it has any right to.Hobie-wan wrote:If you haven't seen Hard Boiled, you should do so.Limewater wrote: The Killer: This was my first time seeing this film. ... When it comes to John Woo's Hong Kong films, Bullet in the Head and A Better Tomorrow rule supreme.Limewater wrote:Oh, I have. I haven't seen BT yet, but BITH was a bit too much of a downer for me.OldSchool_Boy wrote: When it comes to John Woo's Hong Kong films, Bullet in the Head and A Better Tomorrow rule supreme.

Better Tomorrow is a bit unpolished because of the low budget but I think it shines brighter for that being raw. Bullet in the Head is my favorite because of the different approach that Woo explored with more focus on the story than the huge action scenes. Not that I don't appreciate the scenes, i love them, but I want to see Woo focus on the story a bit more.Hobie-wan wrote:I haven't seen BT yet, but BITH was a bit too much of a downer for me.OldSchool_Boy wrote: When it comes to John Woo's Hong Kong films, Bullet in the Head and A Better Tomorrow rule supreme.

Easy A... pretty good.
Wall Street sequel... to avoid a late fee, I eschewed watching the last 20 minutes.
Also started watching this old movie, which isn't available on DVD yet, but it's streaming on NetFlix (and apparently it aired on MGMHD):

It's pretty trippy so far, and the song during the credits is catchy.
