Any good ebay alternatives?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

Sell.com is a good place to list some gaming-related items. I've bought some stuff from there.

I dunno if I'm too comfortable meeting in person to sell something. If this does sell, I'll have to bring a friend along. Of the 9mm variety.

...I kid.

craigslist is a POS. It never added my post to any search results. I'm 100% sure. In the account it still says its posted, but it never showed up yesterday or today in the listings. It says it should have been up in 15 minutes.

No matter where you go theres going to be a smaller audience so it doesn't really matter.

What about Amazon.com?
There fees are a bit high as well, but at least there is not listing fee, it is far less work, and they sell relatively quickly if you price competitively.

Half.com has the same structure and I find better selection and quality on Half vs. Amazon. I actually use both, but I prefer Half.com. I more often find bargains on Half.

BUT Half.com is part of ebay so I suspect the fees there for sellers is going up soon too which means the purchase prices will go up too.

The upside to both is that both are fairly large and decent inventory comes and goes and shipping is predetermined which makes shopping price much easier. The downside to both is the lack of photos of the actual item and most are put up with really short descriptions.

The wishlist feature on Half is a bonus I don't think Amazon offers. Amazon has a wishlist feature that stores things you've found that are already for sale, but I don't think there is a "notify me if this item is listed" like ebay and Half offer.

I used to use Half.com a ton. The price-based notify-me use to work great until it stopped working correctly. I wouldn't get any updates for weeks and then get a massive email full of updates that were already old news.

I already use Amazon for most of my online shopping, so I use their wishlist a lot. Having the rest of their features (recommendations, reviews, etc) is also a plus. I think Half.com is just a stagnant site that is just waiting for eBay to pull the plug on.

Just found this on the comments at TechCrunch:
"I’ve always found Facebook Marketplace to be an excellent alternative for individuals looking to sell small, low-cost items. In many cases delivery would be free, and you get the attention of those who know you (and can thus make a direct appeal to them). Plus, it’s free."

I've heard some positive things about http://www.goozex.com, but I've never used it myself. All the price points are set by goozex, and it will match you up with a buyer/seller, depending on the conditions you are interested in. It's a promising system, but it's something that you would need to use longterm to reap the full benefit of the service.
