Re: Epic Mickey
It's been getting better reviews on most other sites. I tend to follow 1up a bit more than others and they gave it a 'B.' Still seems pretty good. Haven't played any games of its type lately, so I quite possibly will still get it.

Re: Epic Mickey
Numbers don't tell the whole story of course. Epic Mickey is a tired old platformer featuring a reimagined mascot that should have become public domain before most people here were even born.

Re: Epic Mickey
I got it day one and am really happy with my purchase even being 100 bucks -.-
Still it reminds me of alot of N64 3D platformers but with a American McGee feel as said before.
Id reccomend it to anyone who loves animation on any level, and the worlds are just wonderfully imagined.
The games actually quite disturbing when you pay attention to whats going on, i found the level where you had to find oswald ontop of Mickey junkmountain creepy. Oswald just sits up there collecting and lamenting over all this Mickey mouse merchandise become spiteful and malice filled.

Re: Epic Mickey
I played the demo at Best Buy earlier tonight. Hated the control. Thought it was average at best. But then again.. I didn't really care for Super Mario Galaxy either

Re: Epic Mickey
I just played about a half hour of this game, and I'm loving it.
As you said in your first post, it's like a Mario and Zelda game. I keep thinking I can long jump.
When I first saw the videos of the gameplay, I was thinking it would either be fun or not. It's definitely fun, and not ruined by bad controls. I see what you mean about the C button. Some times I press it to center the camera and nothing happens.
The only thing I don't like is the auto saves. It's fine that it has auto saves, but it doesn't let you know when it saves. You just have to assume. So I'm left wondering, "I think it just saved, I guess I can turn it off now..."
I thought the same thing when I first saw the box art.jfrost wrote:I'd buy it only for the box art:
There's definitely a dark feeling to the game, but it's still cartoonish. Was this game suppose to be marketed toward a kid or adult audience?fastbilly1 wrote:Ok I got to put two hours into the game and got through the first couple areas before I had to give back my friends copy. I finally figured out why this game is sitting with me so well. It is like if American McGee designed a Mickey Mouse game. Its not as dark as Alice, but it hits the same marks. So if you like Alice give this one a go. And remember, if someone is giving you lip, just hit them with some thinner...
