Same here -- I definitely want to put Japan, Italy, London, etc on my to-do list for later on down the line, I just don't think this year is the year for them....fastbilly1 wrote:I hope your friend can stay in business for many years. I know that a trip to Japan is in my future, along with one to Israel, and I think this tour may be the best way for me to do it. It just sounds awesome and affordable.
Anyone interested in Japan?

I guess if your only option is staying in hostels and crap hotels and eating ramen or before store closing half price food your whole trip then maybe you could do it for $2700, But I wouldn't suggest it and I doubt it. Things are in English in CERTAIN places, But not everywhere and not everyone speaks english so it isn't as simple you say. Also the bus service in Japan (besides at hotels) is HORRIBLE and almost impossible to use reliably, Express Train tickets from Tokyo to Hiroshima are $200 EACH way and that is included in the tour also.
Your friend went to Tokyo, This tour is to around 6 major cities in Japan Tokyo being 1.
Show me ANY 7 day ALL inclusive Disney, Mt Fuji vacation with airfare from the east coast cheaper than $4,200 with tax included........
Your response feels a little left of angry... Why so serious? Try to stay neutral Swiss Miss.
So my good chum, my whole point was not to take an all inclusive trip so that you can do things cheaper (and IMO frankly better) when you are in control of your vacation so I will not bother to look or show you a tour package for $xx.xx. Just bear in mind, I'm not trying to coerce anyone into anything but offer an alternative.
Since your last trip was about $8,000 (whatever money alocated to whatever), I really think money is the least of your concerns... But it may be for some people who'd like to go to Japan and experience it (without breaking the bank or saving/waiting longer than they need), which was why I mentioned that you can go cheaper, be in control of your own trip, and have a great time.
Frankly, after traveling to countless places in dozens of countries around the world, IMO it's really better to make your own trip unless: you absolutely have no experience travelling, gotta do the most you can on a short time, you are incapable of navigating yourself, are simply ignorant of where you are going and don't want to make the effort to learn anything prior to going.
If you think that going for $2,700 equates to hostels, bad hotels, eating ramen, and closing time specials (Who goes to a supermarket on vacation for nitely close-out deals???), you are sorely mistaken.
I have never stayed in a hostel, a bad (or unsanitary) hotel, nor have I had to eat cheaply/poorly when in Tokyo or any of the dozens of places in Japan that I've been to. And I think anyone would agree $10~$15 is not eating cheap/poor.
For whatever your standards are, you truly come off looking ignorant when you make statements that are just not accurate like: Japan has poor bus service, that Japan doesn't have good and inexpensive hotels, or that there isn't English in tourist spots or English assistance. Perhaps you've had bad experiences because I can vouch for exactly the opposite of what you said and can help anyone that wants to find such. Tour busses yes, are harder to do without Japanese, but hell no, I would not take the bus that distance myself (Tokyo>Hiroshima).
FYI, the Shinkansen from Tokyo to Hiroshima is $160ish depending on $ to Yen, not $200 1-way. You round-up a bit much 'ey. 18350Y does not equal $200.
But alas, I suppose I have no idea what I'm talking about since I've only been Japan 13 times (over 11 years before moving here a few years ago.
And for anyone who cares, IACE offers great air fare, Super City hotels are nice if all you need is a bed/toilet/shower (Do you need more when what you want to see is outside?), and Japan on 7 days is ridiculous. Try to enjoy one or two cities to get the most of what they offer unless what you wanted was the Pu-Pu platter.
That's my two-bits and anyone that wants to do it themselves, feel free to hit me up.
Look, I don't come to the site to have people break my balls just for the sake of doing it. If you HAD a valid argument I wouldn't have come accross the way I did, But you don't. No Hiroshima train cost is EXACTLY what I said it is, I was there just a few months ago. I NEVER said "that Japan doesn't have good and inexpensive hotels, or that there isn't English in tourist spots or English assistance." Those would be the unintelligent rambling from someone who likes to stir up shit, again for NO reason.D.D.D. wrote:NeoRage wrote:My plane tickets have never been under $1200 last one was $1400, My hotel was $1500 and everything I did totaled around $8000. Obviously you DON'T have any idea of what you're talking about since you had to tell us what your "friend" paid to go to Japan in 2005!
I don't post here or anywhere much because there is no point as long as self centered shit stains like you try to turn EVERYTHING into something negative, If you have an opinion that's great but why be a prick about anything and everything. The internet seems to be a great playground for you and your kind, But in the real world (you know the place you're afraid to piss people off in) it would take ONE fucked up comment from someone like you for you to be kissing the ground.
If anyone wants to see Japan, Which is all I wanted to know and offer a way to go then just PM me and I will send you more info.
I think both of you are taking the discussion way too seriously....
