J T, I want to thank you for putting this together. I've found a lot of games that I'd never have known about otherwise that I loved. I know you put a lot of work into this and I appreciate it. :)
Gaming accomplishments:
Nibbler (marathon): 251,169,160 / Nibbler (one life): 5,263,360 (WR)
Donkey Kong: 423,100 [L12-1] (150th place as of 2019-01-15)
Super Smash Bros. (N64): Ranked top 5 in Wisconsin from Q1 2016 to Q2 2017
Shrek SuperSlam: won largest tournament in game's history (Shrekfest 2018)

Thanks a lot for this, J T, specially for Tales of Game's Presents Barkley, Shut Up and Jam: Gaiden, Chapter 1 of the Hoopz Barkley SaGa (I had to type the entire name, yes). It's really funny how varied this game is compared to commercial JRPGs. Battle mechanics are really interesting, if silly.

Regarding Hydorah, I tried it a while ago, but I just couldn't enjoy it. It's far, far too hard, to the point where it's not enjoyable anymore. You crash your ship, you're back at the beginning of the level, and crashing your ship is just so stupidly easy. I can't have fun with this type of punishment. Every time I died it felt like I didn't learn anything.

And thank you for keeping up with the ongoing list! The main thing that made this fun for me was not only finding some great games, but being able to talk with you and others about what we thought of the games. I suppose it was a lot of work, but it was too much fun for me to notice. Merry Christmas!

Barkley was one of my favorite finds as well.

I agree Hydorah is exceptionally difficult, but the board members here that maintain a 1CC philosophy about shmups will likely appreciate it, though I do think the game does have a continue system if you can actually get past the first level... which I cannot.

Thanks dude. I had enough fun with it, I am already planning something similar for flash games.
