This chick might change your mind, plus, when is the last time you made beef jerky?

Well?

Huh?
I just made some beef jerky actually, but he said beer jerky, so now I'm interested :D

I made two batches of venison jerky this year, but beer jerky does sound interesting.

Mine was venison as well actually. The deer around where I grew up and my where dad hunts are pretty much corn feed, so they don't taste too "gamey" but one of other parents at my daughters preschool offered me about half a deer that he got up-north that was, so I made jerky out of it. Nice snack to have around.

I meant to type beef jerky, but I have a buddy who tried preparing beer jerky. It was ok, but I think you have to be careful on your selection.

With the exception of 2 occasions, my mom is the only person to ever cut my hair! But, it's her profession, so I've never had the 'mom hair cut' I've always heard about.

Lol. You could go to a barber and ask them to fix it for you. It's not an uncommon thing, from what I've heard.

A few times I've cut my hair myself, just using one of those buzzers with the length clip things (the one that will leave my hair the longest). I'll usually only do this is I plan on wearing a hat everyday though, until it grows back out.

So hey, why not wear a hat until your hair evens out?

This is great because I could use a few tips as my jerky isn't rubbery nor crispy, but it doesn't have that perfect bite to it. I usually use the back straps from a deer, allow it to sit at room temp for a few hours, then marinate for at least 12 hours, then put in an electrical food dryer for around 10 hours.

Any tips for the perfect texture?

Eh, used to wear hats a lot, but I'm not really a hat kind of guy now. Well, not really any trouble I guess. It'd be nice wearing a hat in this rainy weather too.

And I think it's kind of odd a thread can talk about hair and beef jerky.

It seems like every time I get to posting in a thread that already 2 or 3 pages long, the conversation is way different from the original post.

Well I know what can mix up your results is definitely the thickness of your slices. Plastic bins are used for the marinate and like you said they sit over nite in the fridge. We never used a food dryer though. As long as the temperature doesn't run too hot, you use authentic wood chips in the smoker, and rotate the racks every so often it turns out decently regular. Also, try using the hot pepper seasoning with the small flakes. My dad makes a hot variety and it rocks.
