Sadly no, I may try to find that special tool to take it apart. Pisses me off, I don't wan't to pay virtual console for it if I can get it working. Plus my wii is already almost full on memory and my sd card is also about full. I'm trying to save room, I purchased wii fit for my wife for chrsitmas and I know it takes up a channel.
I hope if this rumored "wii 2" comes out it's got a bigger hard drive. And it would kick ass to have a zelda game in HD...and a donkey kong country game in HD...and a star fox game in HD...and a Mario game in HD..and a Metroid game in HD...and.......the list goes on[/quote]
Have you heard of the "Homebrew Channel" for the Wii? If not, it is a type of software hack that appears as a channel on your Wii. You can access it thought a security hole in the newest Smash Brothers game. With this channel, you can run various emulators on your Wii. The 16-bit ones and older work really well. They do have 2600 and Odyssey2 emulators, if that's your fancy. The 2600 ones works well. You can also install game channels for N64 games without downloading them from the Shop Channel. Legally, it is a grey area of course, but if you stick to games you own then I would say you are in the clear (at least morally!).
The Homebrew channel supports HD SD cards (2GB plus) and USB hard drives, so space should not be an issue at all. Since the Homebrew Channel only takes up one channel, this is a way to literally get hundreds of 16-bit games and older on just that one channel. Brilliant!
You can find more information on it here:

My wife really enjoys Wii Fit, so hopefully your wife will as well.
Your local hardware store might have 3.8mm (to open N64 games) and 4.5mm (to open various game consoles) game bits/security bits.
