I didn't realize it was so simple until I looked at some of your posts explaining it. I'm definitely going to get some whenever I have the spare cash to spend, especially for the PCE games.

I've been very slowly and casually but successfully learning Japanese just for the sake of feeling accomplished because I've wanted to since I was little, and it's always good to have supplements. The children's books I have lying around like the Disney version of Fushigino Kunino Arisu and looking at game magazines with furigana on the kanji can be fun/helpful but I'm just so much more into playing games.

I'm not really into anime like most people assume when I tell them, but I've always been deeply fascinated by Japanese culture and history. This probably started when I was young and saw some of Akira Kurosawa's films for the first time. Especially Seven Samurai and Throne of Blood (Fantastic retelling of Macbeth) Of course the Samurai dialect confused me when I first started learning until I had an o 'duh' it's a different dialect moment.

Anyway, after that long and unnecessary tangent, the bottom line is I am getting on the Japanese PSN ASAP!!!

Good! It's stupidly easy even if you don't know how to read Japanese. Just enter some hotel you look up on google as your address.

Kurosawa films are classic. Japanese history is pretty f'ed up, but it's interesting.

HAHA.. So you do have to lie about your account to get on.. I guess I may try it, so many games I'm missing out on! And Akira Kurosawa is the man, Ran, Seven Samurai, Yojimbo and Rashomon are all classics..

Just lie about your address, that's all. Or you could use your credit card on the Hong Kong PSN, as far as I know. Since I have never used the HK PSN, I can't really give advice there.
