Yeah... I used my Other OS all the time... I'm pissed that I updated and it was removed... I haven't updated since then because they killed some of the USB controllers... I think I'm just going to downgrade my Firmware and reinstall my Other OS... I don't play PS3 games anyhow... I use it for PS2 games & Blu-rays. Screw Sony for completely boning customers like me. Funny how the only thing I can't do is buy games from PSN now... Sonys loss.

Im pretty sure Microsoft did that 3 year warranty thing because their consoles were over 50 percent failure rates. Electronics are gonna fail but 50 percent is way too much. Not enough PS3's died to really signal a huge recall and to fix them all.

PS3 had something like a 0.5% failure rate as opposed to the early Xbox's 40% failure rate.. So you could see the difference there..

The stupidity of fanboys, and even worse, fanhaters always amazed me. If the guys on the other camp have a console that breaks down, tough luck for them, but ultimately you're the one with the working console, so why should you care?

If your own console breaks down, complain a bit to the company, and if they don't fix it don't buy their console again.

But trying to see which of 2 multinational corporations is more evil and has violated more user rights, is like trying to find out which poisonous snake's venom is more deadly. It doesn't matter!!! If MS and Sony could have their way, you'd be their slaves. Why do people have the need to defend and/or attack a company?

I can understand attacking a company you feel has wronged you, but saying the other company is better is deluding yourself.

I don't see what the big deal is. If your that worried about bricking your console with firmware updates keep it offline and don't update your console. Its pretty simple really. I keep my PS3 offline because I just want to play and not download updates and patches. My gaming time is limited and precious.

Nobody should have to worry about downloading updates. If you do, that should honestly tell you something.

I have had my PS3 slim since it was released and so far non of the firmware updates have effected my system,
