I'd like to Genetos her...nevermind.
Anyway, it's pretty fun, though I'm not very good at it. I have difficulty seeing the incoming bullets due to all the explosions and such, which is actually a pretty normal complaint for me with a shmup. It's nifty though.
So, for you guys who have beaten it, how do I hurt the final boss? I seriously unloaded on him, hit him with my super weapon, used bombs on him, and never even scratched the surface. What am I supposed to do?

Basically you keep hitting it. It doesn't look like you're doing any damage but when you kill it, its entire health bar goes down at once.Ack wrote: So, for you guys who have beaten it, how do I hurt the final boss? Ok, I just ran through it on Beginner (I had first played through on Normal, but I died at the final boss). I see what you mean about it not looking like I'm doing damage. Oh well, fun game. Are those games listed in the credits supposed to be all the references?YoshiEgg25 wrote:Basically you keep hitting it. I think you don't ACTUALLY do damage to the final boss. The way it seemed to work for me (it was a while ago) is that you just continue picking up DNA to evolve and when you do, you can win.

December 5th.
Today's free game is very special. Very special indeed.

Awhile back I made a comment on Racketboy that I wished there was a game designer clever enough to make a game about the movie/play Who's Afraid of Virginia Wolf. I said that because it is a story that is not conducive to traditional video game play at all. It's about a couple that goes to visit a husband and wife for a dinner party, but the hosts' bad marriage gets increasingly loud and obvious until the simple dinner party turns into a marital breakdown, with company over to watch. I didn't really know how it would be possible to translate that story to the video game world, but I liked the idea of some ambitious game designer giving it a try.
Much to my surprise, a couple of ambitious game designers already had. It's called Facade.

This game is an incredible leap forward in artificial intelligence. It is an interactive one-act play. You are invited over for an evening with Grace and Trip, a couple whose marriage is on very thin ice. They try to be good hosts, but their hatred for each other makes it hard to stay civil, even when guests are over. As you walk around their apartment, you can say anything you want to them. You just type it in with your keyboard and they respond. You can try to help them. You can take sides in their arguments. Fight with them. Flirt with one and break them apart. Whatever. Many different outcomes are possible, so it pays to play this game multiple times with a different agenda for each playthrough. The AI doesn’t always work, but is often successful and the potential this game has is huge.
Here is the site where it can be downloaded.

One of the designers along with a small team of other people created an augmented reality version of the game. We are one step closer to the holodeck.

I'm having real trouble downloading this one, the torrent file doesnt seem to work and the mirrors require putting my card details in despite being free, so screw that.

I've been wanting to play Facade for years as it must be a rather curious experience but I never get around to, even though it has been out for a goood while. I wonder what could have been done nowadays with even better AI.

The mirrors should not require your card details. They have some advertisements on them that say "Click to Download" that are BS. I didn't click on these, so I wasn't aware they asked for card details. That sounds like a scam. Do not use those.alienjesus wrote:I'm having real trouble downloading this one, the torrent file doesnt seem to work and the mirrors require putting my card details in despite being free, so screw that.
Here is a more direct link to the game:

Click the link that says "Softpedia Mirror (RO)" and you will begin downloading the file. This is the link I used and it works fine.

Hmm, seems you're right. Thats the first time I've been caught by one of those, good job im not stupid enough to throw about my card details like confetti. I'm still concerned about a site that has ads that are blatant phishing scams on it though.J T wrote:The mirrors should not require your card details. Yeah, I hate those phishing ads and a lot of places for free pc games have them. I've used softpedia a few times and haven't had any problems from the actual downloads as long as I can find them among all the phishing scams. They are particularly rife with phishing ads though. I usually use rapidshare and megaupload, which are kind of obnoxious too because they make you wait several seconds to download, but at least they don't have quite so many phishers there.alienjesus wrote: Hmm, seems you're right.
