That reminds me of this slightly NSFW optical illusion

Yesterday, Sony just announced that their popular MMO, Pirates of the Burning Sea just went free-to-play! Now you don't have to be a pirate to play this game without paying (yarr dee har har!).

Make sure you are in leg mode (not arm mode) and alternate the legs left and right (by using the left and right mouse buttons while pushing forward)

Im doing that, but every time I go towards the stairs my 'feet' just collide hopelessly with the bottom step and I come to a dead halt. It wont let me raise them high enough to actually move up the stairs. It's kind of frustrating because I was really looking forward to giving it a try.

Pull back on the mouse and then forward while holding down the mouse button. His legs will flop around and eventually gain enough height to get over the step. The controls are intentionally awful, because, well, you're an octopus trying to pass yourself off as a human and that's hard work.

Yarr, I'd like to pirate her booty, if you know what I mean.

lol. I met author David Sedaris at a book signing recently and he was telling everyone at the signing dirty jokes. The one he told me was:

What's a horny pirate's worst nightmare?
A sunken chest and no booty.

And then he pushed a little button on a machine that had a laugh track on it.

December 4th.

Today's free game is Genetos.

This is a shmup with a great concept. You begin in a Space Invaders style level and with each new level, you progress to a new phase in the evolving history of the shmup genre. As you reach the later generations you are in waves of bullet hell with 3D moving backgrounds. Each level is really enjoyable and its a smart tour through the history of a genre.

Genetos has a very, very cool concept - for those of you who didn't explore this gem when it was suggested a while ago, try to give it a go now.

It can be too easy but I think even then it is still a very enjoyable experience mainly on the strength of the concept (do not think from this that the execution is crap, it is just that I liked the concept so much that I want to see a more commercial-quality game exploring this idea).
