This leads to buying a computer in the local superstore that focuses only on big numbers because that's what sells. The staff misguides the costumers because they don't know what they are selling and why it's good or bad.
People also tend to want to have their cake and eat it too. They want a computer mainly for work but they may want to play a game every once in a while, which is like asking your small commuting car to go off-road. It doesn't matter if you play games once or everyday, the price jump is the same.
I usually have a budget of 600 for 5 years or so, more or less a generation of consoles. Given that you are still going to have a computer even if you have a console, that's 200 more euro you can use for the computer.
I say only 200 euro because you shouldn't pay more for a computer just to surf the internet and watch movies.
I'm not very savy when it comes to computers, I just ask around and inform myself before buying.
For example, for 670 euro you can have this computer built and tested including taxes:

(The last item for 0 euro is a gift)
Seems very fair to me, I can't understand people saying that computers are expensive when modern consoles do far less things and are not exactly cheap either.
Thoughts?
