That and I've found that in Japan people tend to ditch their RPGs pretty fast (always tons of many RPGs at game stores here).

I agree. I never see it particularly expensive here (not like a US Earthbound).

Why not just get a JP version semi-cheap (compared to EB) and have someone make a repro? It could be cheaper than a CIB EB... If that is what you truly want.

A lot of people ask me to do that and I refuse to every time. There's nothing to stop them from trying to pass it off as a real NTSC-U copy. But really, just get a flash cart. The one from Tototek is really cheap now.

I actually bought the Japanese versions of Mega Man V and Kid Dracula for Game Boy because the Japanese versions were so much cheaper than US versions. Unfortunately, a text-heavy game like an RPG isn't such a quick fix.

The US Earthbounds are also being fought over by people in NTSC and PAL regions (poor Europeans didn't get a release), and you have people who think that if Nintendo sees people paying a lot for copies, they'll release it on Virtual Console or release Mother 3 or something, so you have people buying 4 or 5 copies (part of why FF7 is so expensive)

I meant to keep your Mother 2 cart and just put the repro inside the M2 cart, not the other way around. If it's done that way, there's no way you could pass off a JP Mother 2 as EB.

I know what you meant, but I would have already done the hard part. It wouldn't take much for some one to come along and swap it into a NA Earthbound cart that they made up. Now perhaps if I super glued the cart shut...

Do it and I'll give you $30 bucks. Glue it with everything you got. make into Genesis cart :)
Take the guts of a snes repo and place into a genesis cartridge, best idea if it fits in.

I do remember some other website to make just repo nes into another game 15 to 30 bucks. But it has to a particular type of game for that other game.

No way, I bet a pirate version of Earthbound on Genesis would go for a lot on eBay!

True - all you need is to swap the PCB - kinda forgot about that. Then again if you're going to make the effort to make a fake label, fake box, fake manual, etc, meh, but I see why you'd be against it. It just seems like a complete waste of time to make all that stuff just to sell it as an "original". But that's just me perhaps~

Yeah, but you don't even need to make a box and all that, just the cart is enough. What does Earthbound sell for these days? Cart only around $70 more or less? Maybe it wouldn't be worth it for some one. If I WERE to put Earthbound on a Mother 2 cart, I'd charge about $60 for it, so little room for profit. But let's say I make it and sell it to some one, then they get sick of playing it and sell it (happens often) and now there's a bootleg floating around. No good. So forget about how mad it would make me for some one to profit from my work, some poor sap is gonna get a bootleg cart thinking it's real.

Or a cart that costs even more, which is why I've never made a Star Fox competition cart. Or is it called Super Weekend? I always get them confused. But yeah, those rake in a couple hundred easy. I could make a fake competition cart so easily it's not even funny. And I KNOW it can easily be passed off on eBay no problem, which is exactly why I have never made one.
