Will the Sega Saturn Twin-Stick work on Dreamcast w/adapter?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

That's my biggest bitch with that game, that it won't let you configure your own controls. I'm sure the game would be somewhat playable with a regular controller if you just used ABXY as a dpad and then just had the l and r triggers but no.

According to Play-Asia, the Total Control 3 has a Saturn Twin Stick mode.

The one I got pretty cheap was the Dream Connection 3-in-1 (also has a Playstation port, PS2 keyboard port and a VMU slot.)

Well since it's of no use for the twinstick in Virtual On try it out in Bangai-O and let us know how it goes. I've always been curios what it would be like playing Bangai-o with two joysticks ala Crazy Climber but never have had the chance.

Just had a go at it and it almost feels right with Bangai-O, but once again some tinkering of the button configuration would of made it perfect. On the right hand stick, up and left are perfect for shooting in those directions, but right seems to become the L or R trigger, so that direction makes it switch character. Also, you have to press one of the right trigger to shoot down. Bah.

It worked pretty well on Saturn games like Sega Ages: After Burner II (2nd control scheme), Sega Ages Space Harrier and NiGHTS, but I'd still rather use the standard controls for those.

Are you sure you're not using the crappy second controller arrangement in Bangai-o?

There are two options: 'ABXY' and 'AX'. I tried both and I think it was the 'ABXY' one that I used. The 'AX' one was even worse, though.
