I was going to get the PS2 version after seeing pics of the PS3 version. Alas, found out it had the cartoon type graphics similar to the Wii. I read that the PS3 version is completely different, a more cinema graphic realism to it. Disappointing, even though the PS2 can't match the PS3 in resolution and power, at least could have gone the realism route.

I've played a couple hours of the Wii version, and I think its quite enjoyable. The controls are intuitive and feel natural (I especially love throwing the ghost trap, childhood dream come true!). Also, wrecking an entire room is great fun, thanks to cool physics.

Is it any good? I like the one on Genesis, but didn't care for the NES games.

The Wii version was the superior product.

As a fan it was fantastic to see something more movie like with the PS3/PC/Xbox 360 version. But overall the Wii version did a better delivery.

The controls were fun on the Wii (though I can't knock the other versions) and just gives it a more "Hey! I'm a Ghostbuster!" feel. But really what sold me on the Wii version was how the cut scenes played out. The story was delivered WAY better; you got to hear more lines and see more "acting". One of the better examples is when you are going through the building to get to Alissa and fight Stay-Puft. In the PS3/Xbox/PC version you find Alisa and you hear the dialog between Her, Ray, and Peter as background and nothing is really happening. In the Wii version it becomes a cut scene and is far more hilarious. You get to see Ray trying to get Alissa to move out of the way as Stay-Puft comes crashing through the wall as well as see Peter on the stairway drinking his coffee, pretending like he is being attacked and too busy to aid you and Ray as Ray tries to get him up there. There are a number of scenes this happens with, it just flows way better.

I vote for the Wii version being slightly better... but that's really just my personal bias coming out.

The PS3 graphics look good, but are hardly "realistic". The Wii graphics are cartoonish and stylized - but I feel they actually fit for the subject better and will probably age more gracefully without the uncanny valley effect in place. (It helps that I enjoyed the Ghostbusters cartoon as a child and have no qualms about seeing the franchise take cartoon form.)

Wii receives a lot of backlash for waggle (often deserved, sometimes not) but it isn't a game-breaker in Ghostbusters and is balanced out by the unique controls provided by a pointer. Local split-screen cooperative play on Wii is great, although it has fewer multiplayer modes available. The Wii game also seems easier - something that didn't bother me because the game was simply about having fun instead of overcoming a challenge.

Both versions have flaws, but are still worth playing. Wii games are often significantly worse than higher-budget HD versions of the same title - but in this case the games are "different", and neither is really better or worse. You should probably just get whichever is more affordable, unless you have a strong preference for one console over the other.

2 votes for the Wii version, hmmm. PS2 is supposed to be similar except for non-motion controls. I have GC Luigi's Mansion already, but maybe another ghost capturing game with the catchy theme song may be worth getting.

I hope the Ray Parker song is in the PS2 version, does anyone know?

I love the video; all the 80s celebrities cameo spots!
Also a great shot of the Cadillac Hearse at the end of the video.

If you don't have a Wii or a PS3, just get the PS2 version. Great game. I'm still contemplating getting the PS3 version as well. Hell this game only cost me $10 with shipping.
