also, major, major LOL at OP. seriously i had to think as to whether or not this was a troll for a good long while before i saw a rebuttal post from OP.
You're right; I forgot about the likely huge number of kids who are just dying to type numbers based on pictures they are shown of old things people find in their basements. GAME OF THE YEAR.
I'M ON YOUR SIDE, DAMN!

maybe nintendogs is a bad example, but this antiques roadshow "game" is just an expansion of the newly-profitable (well, relatively-newly-profitable anyway) "casual gamer" trend since most families have wii's and shit now. i agree it's a stupid game but it's not a stupid idea from a business standpoint. think about all the shitty software that's sold on pc's in wal-mart bargain bins. this is kinda like that; targeted towards mom or grandma, easily accessible (even more so than a pc), and instead of charging $10 for a cd-rom in a jewel case, you can charge $29.99 or more for a wii-packaged game of similar development quality.

it's not that hard to see why they're doing this. you are all blinded by your tales obsessions. maybe you should spend more time cramming japanese textbooks to play the games of your dreams.

None of you understand the acquisitive thrill of antiquing and the titilating suspense of monetary appraisal. I am disappointed in all of you.

I will be shocked if Namco will be able to come up with an online mode for Antiques Roadshow other than having people pay for extra "levels".

I don't know if you're joking or not, so I'll treat this post as serious.

By "online support," I mean having a bunch of people online excited about a product and calling for its release. Snakes on a Plane was a huge deal on the internet before it came out, but it was not financially successful.

For one, who defines online support that way? Online support is how the company supports the online community by either having online gaming modes or offering extra content. Why would I be joking?
