maybe nintendogs is a bad example, but this antiques roadshow "game" is just an expansion of the newly-profitable (well, relatively-newly-profitable anyway) "casual gamer" trend since most families have wii's and shit now. i agree it's a stupid game but it's not a stupid idea from a business standpoint. think about all the shitty software that's sold on pc's in wal-mart bargain bins. this is kinda like that; targeted towards mom or grandma, easily accessible (even more so than a pc), and instead of charging $10 for a cd-rom in a jewel case, you can charge $29.99 or more for a wii-packaged game of similar development quality.
it's not that hard to see why they're doing this. you are all blinded by your tales obsessions. maybe you should spend more time cramming japanese textbooks to play the games of your dreams.
