Heavily-scripted titles like Call of Duty resemble FMV games in some absurd manner. Anyone else agrees?
Sorry Pulsar_t. I forgot. :?

It's out now though and it costs $30.

Maybe I'll ask for it as a Christmas gift.

please let it not be sega cd
Honestly, most people would say Sega CD. 3DO and CD-i just weren't popular enough - the Sega CD was in everyone's faces, and all the commercials featured FMV games (and maybe Sonic CD).
according to sega-16.com, there were 39 US FMV games. i think there were a total of 147 US sega cd releases, which accounts for about 27% of the total US library.

27% is kind of a lot, especially for a shitty genre that didn't last long, but i think the system isn't littered with as many FMV games as most people make it out to be.

does anybody know how many FMV were on the 3do or cd-i?
if you took a shit, please put it back

Right, but Sega tried to push the FMV games really hard with the Sega CD. I mean, just take a look at the infamous commercial:

They showed one non-FMV game in the whole commercial. Sure, that wasn't all it had to offer, but when all the high-profile games are of a certain genre and no one even hears about the rest, it's just inevitable. It's the same reason the PS3 and 360 seem like they have nothing but First Person Shooters these days, and the Wii seems like it has nothing but mini-game compilations.

That's because that's just about the only advantage the SCD has over the Genesis. That and CD quality audio, which is hard to put in a commercial.

The Mad Dog McCree games are the best FMV games ever, and its not debatable :D Gotta love the crappy hit detection and even crappier voice acting

I enjoyed Braindead 13 and Novastorm (a FMV railshooter for dos).
A local arcade had a hologram laserdisc game called Timetraveller that was pretty cool.
