I don't mind the increasing traffic. The attitude issues are a bit of a problem though. But hey, that's why we have a small army of moderators, to cut down the problems before they become problems. We've had our share of Budsmokas here. We've just done our best to talk to the ones willing to listen and stay while sticking to our guns with the real problem children.dsheinem wrote:The real question is: why are we starting to attract former GameFAQs users?

I don't post here very often but I have had this page loaded on start up for years. The friendly atmosphere of this place really adds to the credibility of posters. A smart person is able to understand differences and admit when they are wrong. Even though most of you don't know me, I consider you all my friends.
Re: RacketBOY as a "Culture"
I believe an online community's decency is directly related to the amount of iron in the moderators' fists.

Apparently you have not ever talked to budsmokaTopherMan wrote:Wow.... Just wow....
Thanks to boredom, I've been reading many forum discussions over the past few days. And the more I read... the more I realized.... that this is the most peaceful and mature fourm I've EVER been too...
I swear everytime I THINK a flame war will start, the posters just wind up, understanding that they disagree and leave it at that.
Theres a lack of pretentiousness forum-nerds, here, and I love it!
People here just love video games and want nothing more then to talk to people who share the same love for our electronic life jackets of reality!
Racketboy.com/forum's is the light world version of GameFAQS's dark world.
I'll knock on wood, in hopes of not jinxing this website. But I have to say, I'm glad to be here

Ahaha, thanks. Tonight will be spent playing Grandia 1 and practicing my SSF4 combos... but friday I'll be in Atlantic City with some friends, drinking legally and avoiding the cougars (unless they're hot cougars of course ^_^).
Unfortunately the medicine I'm on makes pussy feel a lot less cooler then it used too =( but hey! it still feels better then my hand =O

Re: RacketBOY as a "Culture"
Haha, the only "fight" I've ever been in on here was this one time that I mis-wrote something and didn't realize it, and people were calling me out on this point I wasn't aware I had made. I don't remember exactly what was said, but it was basically like this:
Me: "X"
Other: "Dude, what the fuck are you talking about? Y."
Me: "Wow man, CHILL, I said Y."
Other: "Wow, I'm not even gonna deal with you. Bye, troll."
Me: "What? What was there to get mad about?"
Ack: "Just drop it, chief."
Me: "Drop WHAT? There's nothing to drop!"
Ack: "Facepalm"
Me: "FACEPALM!? Why!?"
Ack: "Double-facepalm"
Me: "What is WRONG with you people!? *rereads original post; finds error;
"
ANYWAY. Suffice to say, this is a wonderful place, and the only problem I ever had was my fault entirely.
Anyway, conversations like "The Truth About Literature", and the fact that the "Games as Culture" forum even exists, and the incredibly friendly atmosphere (There's a RED WINGS fan on here that I tolerate, for chrissakes!) are what keep me coming back. Bless ya'.
