So what do you guys think? It looks solid to me but the story doesn't seem original. In fairness though I haven't read the comic and I'm sure the story will become more interesting than what is in this trailer

One more series to curb my hunger for breaking bad.

Dude, you are really losing it.
I posted this in the video dump, and it is original, and it is frame for frame of the comic.
Ya see the part where you see "God forgive us"?. It's followed by kids, face down with a bible in their hands shot in the back of the head. The next panel shows their Father next to a gun after taking his own life.
This should be an amazing series, although I'd rather see produced by HBO.

Well to me, the trailer is basically 28 Days Later, which doesn't make it original and just like that movie and Zombieland, they're talking about some place they can all go to and be safe from the zombies. And people going crazy and doing awful things in a zombie crisis(like shooting your kids)has been done before too in these types of movies. Everything in the trailer has been seen in some zombie movie alreadyLuke wrote:Gamerforlife wrote:So what do you guys think? It looks solid to me but the story doesn't seem original. That's understandable, but with THE WALKING DEAD, that's like saying "THE SOPRANOS looks like a knock off of GOODFELLAS. I've seen it all before".Gamerforlife wrote: Well to me, the trailer is basically 28 Days Later, which doesn't make it original and just like that movie and Zombieland, they're talking about some place they can all go to and be safe from the zombies. Trust me, the writing and story of THE WALKING DEAD trailer is just about as compelling and entertaining as anything currently on television (that said I only have 71 channels). I've got a feeling this will be great, and if not, I will eat my hat.
Re: The Walking Dead tv series
Actually I'm pretty happy it's going to be on AMC. They've shown that they're willing to allow almost anything with Breaking Bad, so hopefully the creators of this series will be free to go all out as well.
Their marketing and scheduling of shows is pretty awful though. And their repeated screwing over of breaking bad fans with this "Rubicon" show is pissing me off. But as far as creatively, they're great.

Anyone else catch it? I really enjoyed it, although it felt like I was watching a re-run since it followed the comic so closely. It strayed a bit in some ways, but it seems as if its going to be pretty faithful to the source material overall.
Re: The Walking Dead tv series
It was awesome. Don't know what else to say. It was kind of weird they started off with the little girl though. Don't know if that was in the comics, but I understand they wanted to start it off with a bang. Not that the fact that it's a show about zombies was a secret or anything, but I think the buildup would have been better if his first encounter had been when he's exploring the hospital.

Yeah I thought the same thing. They definitely did it to hook people IMO.Jrecee wrote:It was awesome. Don't know what else to say. It was kind of weird they started off with the little girl though. I had to catch the premiere online, but I thought it was pretty good. Too bad about what happened to, well no spoilers for anyone who hasn't seen it, but damn that was pretty gruesome
