i beat zero mission last week... good stuff, about 3/4 through a replay i ended up stickin fusion in my gba. fusion is tough but i took out ridley last night... but that effin nightmare boss pissed me off for a while. prime's on the back burner for now. great games.

Nightmare in Fusion was probably the most annoying boss in Metroid history for me.

he's so freakin unpredictable... once i figured out a charged beam took out his gravity thing way faster than missiles it got a bit easier... but his flying patterns are ridiculous and unfair sometimes

Re: i just got into the metroid games
alright... zero mission and fusion done... i'll spank 'em more when i get my gamecube painted and put back together with the gameboy player (gotta get that retrousb adapter to use an snes controller (which by the way i found for 5 bucks at a pawn shop!!! official!!!))... in the mean time i got super metroid on the VC now. whoever said the jumping is different aint lyin, but it works... nintendo treats their staple series' respectably, we all know this. anywho, metroid is a cool series. huhzah

really? he's one of my faves! what's that horrendous boss in Prime 3 that keeps regenerating the ball things... Magenar? something like that. he's terrible!flamepanther wrote:Nightmare in Fusion was probably the most annoying boss in Metroid history for me.

Super Metroid keeps providing entertainment long after you've finished it off. Once you learn how to break the game things get that much more interesting. Using weird little glitches you can sequence break the game and get items you're not supposed to get until later in the game. Or if you're really patient, you can just bypass a lot of stuff entirely. I've managed to beat the game without the hi-jump boots, the varia suit, and the grappling beam to say the least.

getting used to the item selecting in super metroid is proving weird. i often forget to turn things off and waste missiles. it sucks. just got to kraid and died... tomorrow is another day.

It made a lot more sense if you were coming off of Metroid I and II.optmusprimenumber wrote:getting used to the item selecting in super metroid is proving weird. i often forget to turn things off and waste missiles. it sucks. just got to kraid and died... tomorrow is another day.
