Update of the Snes problem as of 8-16-10
Okay so here is the situation with the SNES.
AC Cord-The AC power cord works only if i firmly press it in the SNES. Also the male part of the ac cord ..the metal piece at the end comes off the cord completely by pulling it out with your fingers. Also took a look inside and the metal shaft didnt have a secure connection with the wire from the cord.
SNES Console Power and Game works fine if mess around with the cord right. The slightest movement of the cord will cause the system to shut off. If the AC is plugged in, wiggled right, and not be move, the system will stay power on.
My conclusion or thoughts at this moment.
I do not think its ports on back of my snes thats an issue i think its the power cord itself. No cosmetic damages are seen on the cord but where the cord end is where i notice thigns that dont seem normal. For instance just like i stated before the tip of the cord comes off easily, also the tip doesnt seem to get a steady flow/connection with the cord and wire.
NEXT STEP
Purchase a new ac adapter and find out if it is the ac adapter and not the SNES AC back ports.
Thankyou All and feel free to add any advice or suggestions.

Also, very common is that since the power port is subject to alot of stress, the solder joint cracks. I've saved 1 NES and 2 Genesis's from the grave from noticing that as the problem.
If the new cord does the same, I'd get someone to open up the system and re-flow some solder and check other stuff out on it.
But from the description of your problem, I would also say the AC cord is the problem.

You could buy just that end plug and solder, its only two wires.AznKhmerBoi wrote:AC Cord-The AC power cord works only if i firmly press it in the SNES. Just a sample pic, not a SNES owner so unsure of the plug end size.Hobie-wan wrote:But that's not the US SNES one.CRTGAMER wrote:You could buy just that end plug and solder, its only two wires.AznKhmerBoi wrote:AC Cord-The AC power cord works only if i firmly press it in the SNES. Maybe bring your old plug when you go to the local electrical supplier.

Re: Update of the Snes problem as of 8-16-10
Ah, the US SNES uses an uncommon fat barrel plug with a thin center pin. See the left side of this part. My scanner has the same plug and I once saw one digging through a box of laptop power supplies at Goodwill once. That's the only 2 other examples of that style plug I've seen. I haven't specifically looked, but I've never seen one when buying project parts at stores. This odd plug was used to keep people from plugging their NES AC output brick into their shiny new SNES and blowing it up.CRTGAMER wrote:Just a sample pic, not a SNES owner so unsure of the plug end size.
