The last thing that I want to see is a movie based on the Sonic X cartoon. And you know that that's what would happen if they were to make a movie. Like a new Pokemon movie. Don't get me wrong, Pokemon is my favorite game series, but the new anime is pretty bad. I'll watch it if it's on, but it's pretty terrible. To me, Sonic X is the same except that I'm not as big of a fan of Sonic, so there are no bumps up.
I meant the Sonic GAMES!!!!

And by that, I mean the first movie covering Sonic's and Eggman's origins. Second one would be Sonic 1, CD, and 2. Third is Sonic 3 & Knuckles.

I'd go for that if they use the Japanese/European soundtrack as the basis for the music.

You are forgetting the lock on system, and the fact that the spin dash is slow.

I would assume that the lock on wouldn't make it into a remake, but I guess I shouldn't take that for granted :? . I did notice the spin dash was a bit slow - good point.

Honestly, how hard can it be to reproduce the physics/feel of the 16 bit games? Mario has continued to have the same basic feel from game to game - why can't Sonic?!

Slow spin dash and awkwardly-slower walk animation are the only things that really bother me. I never have Sonic walk, I find jumping into a brisk run easier to control. The lock-on mechanics I don't mind a whole lot. I actually think it works quite well (as it did in the fan-made, Sonic Megamix).

All those games barely have enough story to fill half of a page in the manual, much less 6 hours of movie.

For the record I've been writing a sonic movie in between writing other things that might actually get made.

First off, each film would be at least 80some minutes, 100 tops.

Second off, the first film will basically be a prequel to the first game, starting with Sonic's birth and life, as it parallels the life of disgraced scientist, Dr. Eggman. Then it'd slowly move towards the events of Sonic 1.

The second would start off just after the ending to the last one and focusing on Sonic meeting Amy, stopping Eggman's plot involving the Time Stones on Little Planet, then finding out that the events of Little Planet were a distraction so that Eggman would begin work on the Death Egg, only to meet a young fox named Tails. So basically, spanning just after Sonic 1, to Sonic CD and finally Sonic 2.

The third would span the events of that transpired on Angel Island (S3&K).

Third off, what we read in the manual and see in the games is very condensed.

Following Sonic's birth would be. . . creepy. I just took elements from the first 5 sonic games and made the story revolve around that.

What's in the manual is more story than was ever really officially written by anyone. Sonic was supposed to be a vague character who could sell systems in any country. As far as I'm concerned the only true "sonic canon" is what happens on the tv screen when you're playing those games.
