Why would anybody do this?

Wow, that brings back some memories. Growing up I never had an NES but would always love going to the local movie rental place just go rifle through the boxes and dream...noiseredux wrote:maybe they were rental copies. True, I remember doing that myself as a kidUpsidedown Fuji wrote:You're lucky to even have the original boxes. Most threw them away.
That's a good theory, one of them had the original price and tag from a local shop on them so they probably did it for another reason in this case.noiseredux wrote:maybe they were rental copies. I remember stores would slide covers over pieces of Styrofoam for display purposes sometimes.
I know! I think back to being a kid... why did I throw away all those GB boxes?? I mean, why wouldn't you want a nice box to keep your game in? Instead, I'd throw the box out, the manual would get lost and I'd just have a drawer full of loose carts. As a kid I only cared for the game itself, but now there's allot more to it!
Exactly...noiseredux wrote: Instead, I'd throw the box out, the manual would get lost and I'd just have a drawer full of loose carts. Pfft.
