Re: PS2 Backup dilemma
I've tried both programs, but they can't seem to detect them. Is there something I'm doing wrong? the drive still works fine in the ps2, but those programs cant detect them.

Re: PS2 Backup dilemma
I remember having to format it using Windows Disk Administrator and then formatting with WinHiip. From there on, I was able to move the drive back-and-forth without any issues.

How did you get the PS2-formatted drive to show up? i tried plugging the drive in to the IDE mart of the motherboard, and the drive would power up, but Windows Disk Administrator didn't pick it up.gtmtnbiker wrote:I remember having to format it using Windows Disk Administrator and then formatting with WinHiip. Re: PS2 Backup dilemma
Did you try switching the jumpers on the drive? Try putting the jumper on cable select (CS) pin. If that doesn't work, then try the Master pin.
I'll see if I can pull a spare drive out tonight and get it connected. It's been awhile since I did this.

I don’t know if it makes any difference, but make sure you are using a hdd that the ps2 supports. That may make a difference in either program. I didn't have to change jumpers. I just hooked it up with an external usb casing.

I tried both, but nothing happened. Is there any ELF application capable of re-formatting the drive?..or is it just stuck that way?lildeemo wrote:what is your drive set to master or slave?
Re: PS2 Backup dilemma
Could you take some screenshots of winhiip. To get an idea of what it looks like.
Hook up the HDD via IDE cable to the PC under slave.

hiya HungryGarou , when a Hard Drive is PS2 Formatted it is invisible to Windows Explorer i use Partition Magic V8.0.1242 to see the HDD.How did you get the PS2-formatted drive to show up? i tried plugging the drive in to the IDE mart of the motherboard, and the drive would power up, but Windows Disk Administrator didn't pick it up.
You can Format it with that App and then use WinHIIP to Format it into PS2 mode.
With Partition Magic you can also Format a PS2 HDD back to a Windows readable HDD it is not stuck.tried both, but nothing happened. Is there any ELF application capable of re-formatting the drive?..or is it just stuck that way?
btw some really cheap USB Hard Drive Enclosures are a real headache with WinHIIP , WinHIIP often wont detect a PS2 Formatted HDD.
