Earthbound - I didn't like the battle system.
Gears of War - I don't like the feel of the weapons and there's no strong "feeling" that you actually shot an enemy.
Uncharted - While it was fun, I had to force myself to finish it.
Metal Gear Solid 4 - Everything was so well presented, but I couldn't stand the whiney, melodramatic dialogue. I just couldn't take the game seriously, especially with all the lame jokes. During a lot of "serious" cutscenes in the game, I found myself chuckling at the absurdity of it all. I had to force myself to finish this one as well.
Any jRPG from PS2 and on - I have fond memories of jRPGs from the 32-bit era, and even Skies of Arcadia and Grandia II on DC. I absolutely abhor the new ones. The over-the-top anime style, the shitty voice acting; I just can't take it anymore and there's no way I can take it seriously, no matter how hard they're trying.
Games you WANT to like
Re: Games you WANT to like
I want to like RTS games and flight sims, but I find them hard to get into. I rarely get through the tutorial.

Try Starcraft, only RTS game I've ever played, and it was so good I never felt the need to play any other ones.J T wrote:I want to like RTS games and flight sims, but I find them hard to get into. I rarely get through the tutorial.

Marvel VS Capcom 1, 2 and on.
I wish I could get into these games but they're just a little to frantic for me.

Re: Games you WANT to like
Prey - Good game but it is too easy and repetitive. I have had it for years and I never feel like playing it even though I am probably very close to the end.
Odama - I want to like this game because it is so weird and unique but it just isn't that good.
Left 4 Dead 2 - At one point I was probably one of the the biggest L4D fan boys out there and I have spent hundreds of hours with the fist game. I own it for PC and Xbox so I can play with different friends and because the PC version is just plain better. I have all the achievements for it and I have even screwed around making custom maps and whatnot. I mainly spent my time doing versus mode and my team has probably about a 75% win ratio. Not to sound conceded but I am amazing at L4D
.
Anyways rambling aside I really don't like L4D2 that much. The game is horribly imbalanced and they changed the whole feel of L4D. I don't want to get into a huge rant but I really don't like what they've done with the game.
I understand where they were going by wanting to add new exciting things but the game has changed way too much. I mainly have a problem with the incendiary ammo, melee weapons, and the new characters are just worse than the original cast (especially that stupid Rochelle bitch).
Also daylight is fucking stupid. No one wants o play a zombie game set in the middle of the afternoon. Simply making a lot of the maps at night would make the game a lot more enjoyable. It really takes away from the atmosphere of everything. Also I am not one of those "Boycott L4D2" people. I was legitimate excited for the game and I do own it, I was just horribly disappointed. Give me the original weapons and survivors with the new maps and zombies and I would be a lot happier with the game.
Also the new Command and Conquer games aren't nearly as good as the original Westwood games. Even though Generals was made by EA it was still very good.

Pokemon Dash.
I wanted to like this game so much. I ignored that it got a 6.0 from Nintendo Power. I ignored that you could only play as Pikachu. I was excited for a new Pokemon game for my DS.
And it really was a letdown. Not only does it get boring quickly, but it gets hard as nails two-thirds of the way through.
New Super Mario Bros. Wii.
I had heard such good things about the DS version. I had heard such good things about this version. So when my uncle gave me an extra copy, well, I played it. And honestly, it just doesn't appeal to me. It seems like the gravity and everything else in the game just didn't feel like the original games, and maybe it was all the weird spinning and moving things you had to traverse.
And maybe it was that I was always playing with my sister. And that I always started on World 2-3 or 3-5 or something way ahead of where I was at.

I could not agree more about The New Mario Bros Wii. I was very excited about this game but I really don't like it very much.
Re: Games you WANT to like
Honestly, just sit down one day and finish it. It's not worth fretting over, and the ending isn't exactly worth writing home about, but it's better than letting this fester in the background of your mind. Besides, it's not like you can lose or anything.Para wrote:Prey - Good game but it is too easy and repetitive.
