Games you WANT to like

We've all got at least five of them on our shelves. Games that you picked up hoping you'd love but the affair just never actually materialized.

An example:

F-Zero GX. God I want to love this game. I really do. There is no title more beautiful, amazing, or exciting for the Gamecube (a system chock full of amazing games) but I can't even beat the second mission!

I know it's possible to be good at this game. I've seen the videos. But no matter how hard I try, I can't get anywhere on this game. Controllers have died and walls have been damaged.

And so it sits on my shelf, counting the years till I forget how hard the game is and decide to try again...

Another example:

Unlimited SAGA. An RPG based on pen and paper mechanics? What a wonderful idea!

What a terrible result. The game is arbitrary and awkward. And so it sits on my shelf...not worth playing...not worth the gas money I'd use taking it to gamestop for 5 cents store credit.

What about you guys/gals?

I've played through a long way, alas... I can't make it any further (about 20+ hours into the game)

I've made it quite far, but my Xbox got formatted all my save-games lost and can't be bothered restarting... =/

story just don't cut it for me
and there's no iron-sights... etc.

Tomb Raider Underworld-Same old shitty TR combat. I missed the cool adrenaline dodge from Anniversary too
Scott Pilgrim vs the World-DO love the soundtrack though. Anamanaguchi ROCKS!
Final Fantasy X 2-I'm tempted to also say FF13, but the combat system was pretty f***ing sweet for the most part
Dragon Age:Origins-It's great on PC, but console gamers like myself got shafted on this one
Oddworld:Stranger's Wrath-It's got some things going for it, but the weakest Oddworld game by far
WET and Stranglehood-I enjoyed them for their style, but it's all surface as they mostly stick to generic shooter genre gameplay norms. Nobody has knocked this John Woo thing out of the park yet and Max Payne 3 is looking pretty shitty
Resident Evil 5-Dropped almost everything that made RE4 awesome, including original ideas, likable main characters and a single player campaign. What's that you say? There WAS a single player campaign. No there wasn't

Also agree with Lord Santa about Tales of Symphonia(I'll take Grandia and Skies of Arcadia over this any day)and Half Life 2(Shitty,lifeless protagonist kills the story)
