That is kind of what I really was referring to in my other post. There is a huge misconception about this. Heck, quite a few retro gamers don't even know that the Turbo-CD existed!MetalSonic wrote:Hmmm... I thought there was something before Sega CD but I read on like 3 different articles that detailed the history of disc based gaming consoles that Sega CD was the first. Guess they were all wrong lol. I've got the regular Turbografx 16 and it seems like I'm going to have to upgrade with the CD addon.
Well, it is pretty bad. Only buy it if it's cheap! Cost wise, you might be better off just importing a PC Engine Duo. It comes with a Super CD card (system 3.0) so you can play pretty much all of the CD-based games. Plus, the CD part of the system is region free. Since you already have a TG-16, this would give you access to the entire TG-16/PC Engine library (total access if you bought the Arcade card, but it's not really necessary IMO. The Super CD card IS). It's also cheaper to import games than to get the local TG versions, usually (same is true of the Saturn). So Fighting Street was the first Turbografx CD game....sweet. I've always wanted to play that game even though I've heard awful things about it.
