Definitely isn't widescreen supported. It's 4:3 only like Dylan says.
I have to wonder why though. It was released in 2006 for God's sake. So many games on the Gamecube seem to only support 4:3, it's kind of odd/lazy. And there was Sega offering Widescreen support on the Saturn nearly 10 years before with games like Nights and Panzer Dragoon 2.
Should I get Zelda Twilight Princess on the Wii or Gamecube?

Dude, it's Nintendo. If they didn't do it first, they did it last. See: 16 bit consoles, gore in video games, online play (PSO doesn't count), disks, regular disks, DVD playback, etc.Reprise wrote:Definitely isn't widescreen supported. It's 4:3 only like Dylan says.

There's a theory that it was to give consumers a slight nudge towards the Wii version. That's just hearsay, though.YoshiEgg25 wrote:Dude, it's Nintendo. If they didn't do it first, they did it last. Seriously?Dylan wrote:Are you sure the image wasn't stretched, zoomed, etc? The Gamecube version can only display an image with an aspect ratio of 4:3.CFFJR wrote:Since when does the gamecube version not support widescreen?
I just finished a playthrough last week, it was widescreen.
Granted, I played it on my wii, so I could get progressive scan and all (I don't have component cables for my cube) but it was definitely widescreen.
It didn't look stretched at all... You can easily tell when an image has been distorted like that. The game looked perfect to me. Hell, all of my gamecube games do when played on my wii.
Maybe I'm crazy...
