I never throw controllers, I guess I'm just a little more cool and collected. :)

However, I can't say the same about my sister. A couple (few?) times when we played GameCube games head to head and I beat her (as I did 90-98% of the time), she threw the controller. At me.

Hey, I can't help being totally awesome at Mario Kart: Double Dash! and Super Mario Strikers.

I'm hoping most of this stories are past tense. When you're like 10-13, video games are very serious business. Then you grow up and hopefully don't throw things like a kid anymore.

Although Hobie, I had a similar incident with a laptop dvd drive. I try to fix everything (hell, it's my job) and when someone asked if I had fixed it yet, I just karate chopped it, said "yes...ordering a new one."

I was never one for the rage gaming, but I picked up an SNES from someone on Craigslist over the weekend and was amused/amazed at what I found in the box. The system itself was in great shape, the cords were all perfect, all the games were well loved and kept in their boxes... But the controllers, good lord. The one actual real Nintendo made controller was held together by tape, which in turn also covered several gaping holes in the back. There were no screws in the thing, so the tape that was covering those holes was also keeping the controller together. Oh, and it was missing the bumper buttons too. The other two 3rd party controllers seemed a bit nicer, but when opening them up to clean them, I found ripped contacts, toothpicks keeping the shoulder buttons in place because the hinge pegs were gone, they were just a mess. Finally just gave up, tossed the trio and bought myself a couple new pads :P

Can't say I've ever broken a controller, but I have thrown them at times. It was when I was 10-14 years old, and I didn't do it much. I've thrown my 360 controller a couple of times, but that was because I spent 10 minutes trying to sync it and it just wouldn't happen. I've broken other electronics (phone, dvd player) in rage, but only because they weren't working anyways. I generally try and just walk away if I find myself starting to get mad.

Had a roommate at one point who would throw his ps3 controller like 6 times in an hour. He was one angry guy.

Another friend told me a story about him taking a hammer to his Legend of Zelda cartridge because the battery died right near the end of the game.

Oh, and those of you who feel the need to chime in to say you've never tossed a controller in frustration... you're not fooling anyone. At least share a story of your "friend"

I tossed a few NES and Genesis controllers in my youth, but luckily they had fairly short cords so I never acquired enough velocity to break their will! These days I seem to have acquired Tourette's syndrome, or speak a language in tongues dominated by expletives. And occasionally I partake in the trendy "fit of rage dance," which mostly consists of red-faced jumping and flailing with occasional spins and kung-fu moves for proper effect.

On a side note, I dated a chick back in the day that was obsessed with that Crazy Town song "Butterfly" when it first came out. One day we were driving in my car and she put in that cd, so I was hearing the song for about the 400th time. Without taking my eyes off the road, I calmly reached over and hit the eject button, grabbed the disc, and frisbee flung that mf'er out the window.

As a rather young me, I poured gasoline on my game boy after getting really really damn frustrated. Set it on fire. Man I was such an angry kid.

yeah never happened for me, but my older brothers would get destructive all the time, usually when they played me in fighting games. Eternal Champions CD, Street Fighter 2 and the Street Fighter Alpha series were the big highlights. One of them would throw the controllers off my head. Oh those were the days!

I tossed around controllers before when I was a kid, but those NES and SNES controllers were made of Nintendium, I was never able to break one no matter how mad I got.

However I did manage to break an Xbox 360 controller I had hooked up to my PC after I chucked it across the room from being in some BS boss fight in Sonic Generations. I went through that whole game never grasping or liking the modern Sonic segments and one of the last bosses just drove me insane.

I prefer the PS3 controller I'm using now for PC anyway 8)

Yeah, I've gotten mad. But never enough to break my stuff. I was poor, and breaking my controler meant no gaming.

Just some swearing and storming off.
