Ever Get So Enraged You Break Your Game/Controller/Console?

Got any stories of you or your friend smashing things while playing video games?
One of the things I love about NES/SNES/Genesis/TG16/Saturn is that I can just toss the controller up in the air when I get pissed and it will still work just fine.
I sometimes wonder how many controllers kids go through these days.. any of the next gen controllers die at the slightest abuse.

I used to get pretty pissed playing NES as a kid.. I mean, I owned Ninja Gaiden. Enough said. I can't think of any extreme personal incidents but this story always makes me laugh:

When Wrestlemania 2000 for N64 came out my friend Jim was playing it and got all the way to the Rock, and after beating the shit out of him for a long match, the cheap computer comes back to life and hits him with a special, winning the match. My friend Jim then screams and smashes the N64 controller to his forehead, scraping the analog stick down towards his nose, drawing blood. At this moment his older sister hears this and comes into the room and sees her brother's bloody face..
"...Jimmy? Oh my god.."

i know i broke at least 2 snes controllers playing ken griffey's winning run back in the day. i was so obsessed about player's status. i remember that if morray ramirez didn't get at least 3 hits per game that i would reset it. i would a play a game 3 or so times before actually finishing one that i was content with. i would just slam the shit out of the controllers in frustration. all said and done, i think morray batted over .5 or .600 and had 130ish home runs.

thank god that i have matured. now i just scream "fuck" a lot.

My brother broke 2 Dreamcast controllers over MvC2 growing up. Years later he broke 2 gamecube controllers over smash bros melee. My friend bought a gamecube controller for us for his own birthday so we could play 1v1 again. That same day my brother broke it.

I never broke another thing I owned after I smashed a gundam model when I was 12. My dad said "men don't do that!"

Yeah i had ninja gaiden as a kid and for me mt punch out and castlevania for the nes and street fighter 2 turbo for the snes. I actually took the nes system threw it to the wall when I was at the very end of castlevania and i had two to three hits left to kill dracula and sure enough the god damn system started to get fuzzy and then froze on me. I punched the thing pulled the plugs and threw it to the wall. I cracked the lid and sure enough the system worked fine. The wall had a hole and I lost my nes for two weeks. Today when i get pissed i say what the fuck alot, throw the controller down and shut the thing off.

I don't think I've ever actually broken anything, but I have thrown the controller. Some games really infuriate me (MvC2 was one for me as well) but I have put a dent in the wall

Also I think I have permanently dislocated my nose when I took off my guitar in dusgust after failing to gold star a song on Rock Band after a bajillion tries. The ceiling in my game room was too low, though, and the end of the guitar hit it, causing the body to smash me in the face. Needless to say, I don't try that many times anymore

When I'm angry, I tend to bite down hard on the nearest available object. Usually that's a controller or a limb.

I dont get angry enough to through a controller but sometimes when mad I try to crush it in my hands, it never works

When I was younger (early teens) I had some nasty spells of nerd rage over video games. I had gotten so good at throwing the controller that I could hit the power button from across the room and storm out in angry blare of white noise from channel 3 in my midst.

One day though, I got really mad. I was sitting on the floor and I didn't want to break my controller, but I was pissed and wanted to throw it as hard as I could. I turned around and threw it at a couch cushion as hard as I could. It rebounded right back into my eye. Now I was angry and hurt and felt dumb as bricks. After that learning experience, I got my temper under control.

Two words: Ninja Gaiden

Seriously, I remember one summer day that I was going to do whatever it took to finally beat the game. I knew that the final stage was going to be a beast, so I spent an hour or so building up my lives on the next to last stage (since there is a spot to get 2 1-ups). After having an near infinite number of lives I made the push to the end. A few hours and a hundred or so dead Ryu's later I stepped foot into the final boss room, only to die very quickly due to only having about 4 bars of health. No big deal I thought since if you died at any of the other bosses it restarted you right there. So as I geared up to take on the final boss with a full health bar my heart sank as it started me back at the beginning of the final level. The same final level that had just taken a few hours and a hundred or so dead Ryu's to get through. Much to my amazement i didn't scream, I didn't throw the controller, rather I acted like a cool calm assassin. I walked over to the Nintendo and quietly pulled out the cart, carefully put on my shoes, walked outside and around to the back of the house where the window unit Air Conditioner dripped the freon tainted runoff into a bucket. What followed can only be described as a graphic pre-enactment of the opening kill from Casino Royale where I, like James Bond, held our respective nemesis under the water until the very last air bubble came up. This not only killed the cartridge, but also my taste for the entire series.
