I may sound like an echo but.....
Multiplayer is what makes the Timesplitters franchise kick rear.

Ok... I decided to have another go at this game, but elected to try the "Arcade" modes rather than the "Story Campaign," and I gotta say that the Deathmatch and Challenge levels are pretty fun. Also, it seemed like the framerate held up better in Widescreen than it did on the Normal view setting. But I dunno. Maybe it's just me?

Anyway, I take back what I said about this game - it's not entirely overrated. I just didn't like the single-player campaign. I thought it was very weak in comparison to some of my other fps games on the PS2 and Xbox.

Man, you guys are harsh. There are a lot of average FPS games out there, but even the mediocre ones are fun, and TSFP is better than mediocre.

Maybe I'm not the best to comment here as I bought TSFP on release date (one of the few games I did that with), and I played the hell out of it. I was and still am a huge fan of TS2 and TSFP. I played them both on the PS2 and I am now rediscovering them on the Wii/Gamecube with my kids.

The TS series' strength is in its huge variety of modes, many weapons, crazy characters, and insane speed. The Arcade and Challenge modes ensure lots of different gameplay types and unlockables.

I'm partial to TS2, but TSFP is not without merits--its map editor is great, and when it was online it was hella fun and even supported custom maps--something rarely seen in console shooters even in this gen. As far as AI, how is it any diff from anything else? Have you seen the demos for Bulletstorm? There's no AI there--just enemies running directly at you.

I do think that TSFP lacks the polish of TS2--TS2 was a near perfect console FPS, except for its missing online mode--but TSFP is more accessible with streamlined controls, and easier challenge and arcade modes.

Its not necessarily for everyone--there is a certain vibe to TS games that you either get or you don't, but it does have its fans.

Huh, I never even heard of Future Perfect until now. I'll have to check it out. I played a little of TS2, but I had a hell of a lot of fun playing the multiplayer in the first game. I can still here the voices from the character selection that we always used... "Excellent decision.... Cheers! ::gulp gulp gulp:: "

I thought Future Perfect had a pretty good single player. It's got the story where you meet yourself and have to save yourself right? It's funny too, but of course the strength is in the multiplayer, you can't take it too seriously which I find a lot of FPS games do. Personally I'd rather play Timesplitters or Armed & Dangerous than a Half Life any day.

The large cast of characters, frantic multiplayer matches, the fact that it feels like Goldeneye007(N64),the humor, the unseriousness and lack of realism, are among the reasons that the TimeSplitters games are one of my favourite games of all time

And ofcourse, the monkey character in multiplayer,
