Well see, then you were only giving it 120 too many volts, not 140.Demented Collector wrote: The console wasn't an NTSC/J one, it's an NTSC/U one, no wonder it couldn't read JPN discs.![]()

I've got to look on the bright side.
If i had used the step down voltage converter i would have been wondering why the JPN games i got from ebay wouldn't work and would have messaged the seller to tell him so.

It is now happily purring away with the new PAL power board in it and i dont have to worry about frying it.
That's what you get for having 30 odd DCs lying around.
Time to get the sticky labels out i think.![]()
Thank everyone for your advice.
No prob. you´re welcome. 30 dc´s? what else do you have?

Now there's a question which, I feel, can only be answered with pics.
I'll try to post some photos up over the weekend and put a link to that thread in this one.
But just to wet your appetite I managed to get 13 boxed PAL DCs, advertised as spares or repair for £17 recently.
Took them home, swapped a few laser units and controller ports around and ended up with
9 working consoles.
I am also very proud to own around 60 factory sealed PAL games.
Pics to follow this weekend.
