Metal Slug 5 will not run on CoinOps. If you want to play it on the Xbox you must own Metal Slug 4 and 5. Better yet, get Metal Slug Anthology for PS2, which has all the games (even 6!) in one place.

thanks for the tip, I'll have a look-out for that one
I always thought nr. 6 was just a hack of nr. 3?
or that might just be the MAME version?

Re: time to box the Xbox?
since the Wii Classic Controller also works for PC, I've abandoned the thought of using the Wii for emulation
my gaming-PC is up for the task to play just about any emulator I throw at it and coupled with the Wii Classic Controller, it feels rather unstoppable
I will still continue using the Wii to emulate SCUMMVM games, since I find the Wii-Mote as a mouse suits perfectly for the purpose
but having a Classic Controller on the PC, truly changed the way I perceive emulation, it fits perfectly for just about any (retro) games I play
I am still considering getting an Arcade-Stick as well, but that will be within due time
for now I'm thoroughly enjoying all the classics on my PC with the best D-Pad I've used and nice solid buttons
anyone interested in using their Classic Controller for PC, here's a link to get y'all started:

Re: time to box the Xbox?
Yup, Metal Slug Anthology. It was released in Europe so you shouldn't have any difficulty tracking it down.
It has Metal Slug 1, 2, 3, X, 4, 5, and 6.
Metal Slug 2 and X are nearly the same game, but Metal Slug 6 is not a hack of Metal Slug 3. The Metal Slug games were all created for the Neo-Geo hardware, but by 2006 when it came time to make Metal Slug 6, SNK-Playmore had retired their sixteen year old hardware and instead developed Metal Slug 6 on the much more advanced Sammy Atomiswave hardware.
When you get it, make sure you do NOT get the Wii version. The Wii version doesn't support the Classic Controller or Gamecube controller. You either have to use the Wiimote on its side or the Wiimote + nunchuk's analog stick. It really sucks for Metal Slug.
The PS2 version can be played with whatever you want, including arcade sticks.
